I cracked and reinstalled this the other day. Been having some fun. Then I decided to hire one of these new mercenaries that are basically NPCs that follow you around and fight for you. Hired the basic Paladin that stands outside the mercenary inn and holy shit, the dude just murderhobos everything that even looks at me funny. Even high level group stuff lol. Well, guess I can just muck about doing collection and lore quests with impunity now lol.
They're pretty much gods until about 70 or so, iirc.

So I've been playing about a month now, up to lvl 48. Mostly been dicking around trying to complete quest chains and shit, not really rushing it. The quests are mostly fun, though have that distinctive MMO feel where they repeatedly send you half way across the map multiple times to kill this or that mob or shit. Decent game, when you have a merc, but the combat definitely is a bit wonky. For all of it's faults WoW knows how to do combat. I cannot imagine how fucked up PvP is in this though.

PvP is likely going to be the usual. Highly contingent on having the best gear and spells you can get, and if you have a squad to roam with. Level cap at launch is 12 though so initially the barrier of entry isn't too high.

Everyone was hyping larger scale pvp last server and concerned about it. Ended up just mostly being a few people vs a few people type of fights.

Roaming gank squads are classic, so will be some of that. But the server culture isn't asking you to join a big zerg or anything. It's mostly smaller crews.

Why in the name of thousands of good PvP games would anyone want to play EQ2 PvP? No sarcasm, really curious

Will they unlock the cash cow that is paid spell upgrades? I remember it was on a few TLE servers, and we're talking like 40$ to max a spell or two out.

Anyone know a good solution for UI scaling issues? Just want the GUI to be bigger, as it's too small for my screen.

I was hearing Darqui has a paid version that can help with that but don't know if modding is still allowed on Origins or if it works for Origins?

Settled for running in low resolution for now to make the UI bigger. Can't tab out or anything without resetting the window every time back to full screen mode.

I googled if EQ2 has a UI scaling function and it appears it does, but Origins version does not.
