What you are about to witness is a predictable dumpster fire. The chickens of hubris and incompetence are coming home to roost. There's nobody with serious game dev experience on the dev team including that hack lawyer from Daybreak. They hired a tyrant to be their Senior Community Manager and threads are being locked left and right. The devs don't communicate because they think they are smarter than the players.

Players are quitting in droves because there is nothing left to do. These geniuses pandered to the one archetype that consumes the content faster than the rest. MMORPGs are all about creating communities that stay subscribed. Retention needs to be baked into the design. The EQL "power fantasy" is like eating Chinese food, you feel hungry an hour later.

This week is renewal week. Next week will be a reckoning for the imposters running Daybreak when the numbers come in. They are charging a monthly subscription for a single player game. Bottom line: EQ Legends is EverQuest in name only.

What is it with boomer retards and AI pictures? Maybe it's got to do with being born before the computer age, so I wouldn't get it. Like the first people to drive a motorized cart in like 1910 after riding horses all their lives. Very weird. Kind of sad.

Anywho:



The only (non-European) medium pop server at 7pm EST on a Wednesday. This is more REAL humans, not ACCOUNTS, than I'd wager any single EQ live server outside of a fresh TLP launch (not you, Lethar). When I checked last week on like friday or sunday, I don't remember, it was 3.5 General chats at 800 a piece for my server, Oggok. Obviously weekends have more people.

We'll see what happens at the great 1-month fall off, but these are actual non-retard numbers.

Lots of people according the chart. That's also Euro prime time and they have 2 Euro servers.

Dude does nothing but play eq for 24 years, and cant understand how 10:30am on a weekday is not a time to expect to find people playing a more casual and solo friendly version of the game. I figure its sorta like the 40 hours a week being high end of casual mentality. He doesnt realize what an absolute degen he is.

If that doofus was talking about the creator partner program, they pay for your account for a year and all expansions. That's part of the deal. And you have to generate X amount of social media content per month for them. It's something like 8 pieces of content a month which can be streams or 30 second youtube shorts or whatever.

But yeah, when they're paying for your account you can't dumpster them. Anyone who's done paid promotional stuff knows that this is, in fact, boiler plate standard. You're allowed to criticize content but not disparage it. You can say "I think I'd prefer they did this", but you can't say "this is the stupidest system I've ever seen." This has been how it is for paid promotion for 10 years in the gaming world. And no, this isn't "gaming journalism". This is advertising.

Other companies do it for sure. But most successful live service games really like criticism, because it gives them ideas of what to fix.
