yea you're retarded... it was the idea of mixing classes years before THJ did it... all THJ did was put a cap of 3 classes on it.

grats to Secrets, his ideas and work in eqemu, eqmac, mq2 are very commendable and respectable regardless of his personal issues

idk about Rogean though, why did this guy get on the band wagon? all he does is manage a forum and talk to datacenter reps

I still think the idea to explore in EQ is to run a whole party from one interface. Sort of like a party based single player RPG. If they did that, man that would be the ticket.

Log in, chose a party of 5-6, then enter the world with controls for all of them. robust follow system, shit like that. This game just lends itself to this because most people already multibox. And the game is set up in such a way that youre pretty much just setting up shop in an area and going to town. So this is not like some sort of action RPG. Most classes hardly need inputs either which also lends itself to this idea.

I find the timing of the release interesting. The new super TLP starts in May. People will of course plow that into the ground, and be basically done by July, and then you get this release.

It is a fun concept as I never played THJ. It is difficult for me with the TLP's because all guilds either raid early afternoon or late night for us EST people. If this falls under the normal subscription model that currently allows you to play all content, then I might give this a try. If this is a separate monthly payment, then probably not.

Dual class mixing ect existed before EQ was even around.
Class mixing existed in EQ since the shroud system. Which is what Secrets did he just used the shroud system.

Classless was different from Tri-class system in the following ways
1. Number of class limits
2. Resources used to cast spells and abilities
3. How spells and abilities were obtained
4. How pets worked
5. How abilities worked'
6. How AAs worked

It's like saying WOW copied EQs Rogues because they both have backstab.

Secrets has a bad habit of starting something and never finishing it and yes that includes the classless server he tried to get going. Aporia and gang took that code and made something great not because of secrets code but because they we're actually good devs.

EQ legends will suck because of Rogean and Secrets.

Until secrets gets fired for having another one of his notorious meltdowns or banning someone calling him a tranny boy.

Actually secrets getting fired would be the best case scenario going forward and will more then likely happen sooner rather then later. I give it a year before he completely loses his job for one reason or another.

At any rate, I don't care who's making it. I've tried to get back into EverQuest numerous times. The TLPs hold my interest for a year at best. Playing on Live bores me to death. Plain and simple, every attempt I have made to get back in to EverQuest has failed over the years. This new solo-able EverQuest that lets me multiclass might be the one thing that gets me back into the game. If not, oh well.

At least somebody tried something truly different for once. I don't give a shit who that person is as long as they try.

Given its EQ EMU related, Im going to guess some perceived slight that you have held a grudge about for years and finally spazzing out about it. Did you get banned from an EQ EMU and this is your revenge? They better watch out for the stalker.

Cannot be trusted to play a straight hand tbh. Salute for keeping the site and game up despite the immense trolling and criticism. Everyone else has been broken by it in some way or taken theirs down.

Pretending to only care about classic implementations went out the window a long time ago there but on a few things they did hold firm.

Some of us can admit to jackassery or wrong doing, I've yet to see him do the same in any of the scandals.

EQ legends will have massive censorship/banning issues with both secrets and rogean behind it. Both are widely known to do bans over the smallest things especially when it comes to politics and even if you say for example the 2020 banwave that happened on p99s forum wasn't due to rogean it was still due to the moderators under him which he allowed or didn't care to know about.

It's going to be a shitshow regardless.

If and when they do something like that and it affects me or my friends, I will stop paying them. It's really that simple. It's in their best interest from a business stand point not to cause their paying customers to walk away.

If they choose to ruin their business, then that's on them. The possibility of them doing that won't keep me from at the very least trying the game once.

Nick from mnm has hopped onto this project. I don’t know much about it but I vaguely remember not liking secrets, not sure why anymore. But if all the instancing and solo friendly stuff is true then this doesn’t seem like anything competing with mnm despite the similar release dates

This has probably already been said in this thread so ignore this if it's old news but it's looks like EQL is soloable. You can play the entire game alone. You can scale the difficulty yourself, can group up to 4 and raid up to 8. The multi-classing allows you to basically play as a "god" .

No loot boxes, no loot store, just good ol fashioned subscription and play.

The announcement trailer randomly popped into my feed yesterday and I've been reading about it ever since. Even signed up for the beta.

Really excited to get into this. Probably more than I should be

I wonder if they will have the same type of items like THJ had, 3 levels of certain pinnacle items that you had to then level up if you were not lucky to find the 3rd and final form of the item. Because that shit got old really quick. The amount of grinding you had to do per character was insane. You could only level up one item at a time in your "power" slot and it was something ridiculous like .14% per mob or some shit, if I remember correct. Now imagine that in all of your slots, thats like 800 red mobs per item level. And there was like 2 zones in the game that had red mobs when you were capped.
