Yeah it was some attack benefit that no other classes got. Maybe I'm thinking of monk weapons. I'm assuming that a monk/pal on this server can dual wield monk weapons but you can't dual wield 1h pally weapons, right?
If the 1h Pally weapon is PRI/SEC you can dual wield it. But I think most are PRI only

You can DW any weapons a Monk or Paladin could use. Paladin weapons are main hand so you put have a monk off hand.

This was mentioned in the discord chat today which I found interesting. If that's the case I wonder if they may skip Kurnak and go straight to Scars of Velious since the current loot may outscale Kurnak? I really hope not and they just adjust the loot in Kurnak cause it was one of my favorite expansions.

Also if anyone is planning on live or currently playing PLD/SHM/MNK trio here's a guide. I plan on leveling as an ogre PLD/MNK/ENC then swap to PLD/MNKSHM around level 40. Guide creator cleared all of D4 content minus Sky which he did D3 on it. Think he didn't have time or feel like doing it.

If they skip SOL entirely, they'll likely retain subs instead of lose them then.

Split Paw is a proper dungeon crawl. Its dangerous, its huge, and the mob variety puts other dungeons to shame.

That Pal/Mnk/Shm stuff is giving me "play righteous fire, bro!" vibes from PoE.

It works, I'm sure it's good, but it's going to be limited in certain conditions, it doesn't especially do anything unique, and most of all don't play it if you purely want to have fun and want to play literally anything else.

There's about 15 combos I can think of that do exactly what it does, but some one posted a "guide" so it's taken as gospel. If you're struggling or don't think you're going to be able to do stuff like D0 dragons I'm sure it's okay, but this game is incredibly viable on most any class. Play what's fun. Outside of having 0 ability to heal yourself whether it's mend/heals/lifetaps I think everything works.

I will say, loot i. split paw is crap except for that shield. I think they switched the Paw and Crushbone loot. Stuff out of CB is lvl 40-50 quality.

I got a razing sword, tryin to decide what proc to stick in it. Earthquake from a heirophant's crook, or chaos flux from fluxbladed axe, or haste from ashenwood short spear.

Probably not the flux, it is level 46 and my warrior self is 30.

I'm actually about to do the same thing w/ Earthquake into that sword. Got it today

New Crushbone has a mob density that's between 2.5 and 3 times higher than classic. Its nuts. And, the items are better than Splitpaw, lol.

some of the split paw items seem pretty nice too though. Crushbone is a great zone glad it got an update to be something other than just lvl 4 mobs through most of the zone.

Now to see if they maybe get the Guk and CT revamps in before release, they are moving at a breakneck pace.

The result of this combine would produce an unusable item. :emoji_sob:

I went with the ashenwood spear. I'm guessing the fluxblade proc would make it unusable too since it is a ranger only axe, and ranger not listed on the sword.

You need to make sure you're using procs YOUR classes can use and in the correct SLOTS. So a lot of procs like Earthshaker are primary only.

Testing pets on test dummies right now. Seems dmg/delay matters to an almost insignificant degree and procs are the most important.

I made a Pal/Mnk/Shm trio last night just to gauge the difference between my previous trio. Using a +5 Skarlon sword, planar armor and the 100 AAs I had, I made 20 levels in a sitting and was killing pulls of 4 deep reds (wans and zols, about 10 levels above me) at once in lguk at level 27 including very easily clearing the frenzied room using lulls. I was occassionally one-rounding low yellows in my teens even without Nife procs. I obviously won't be able to make a fair comparisson until 50 but it's clearly much stronger than my previous trio. People hit the AC cap in their 20s wearing Befallen leather + bronze and the Befallen 2h is really good so the gear isn't going to make as much of a difference as one might think.

Paladins get a undead proc buff called Instrument of Nife at level 15 on here. Normally this is a level 30 spell on TAKP, or 26 on TLPs but it's level 15 here, which is rather insane. The proc damage is 193 before motes. It doesn't even need to scale with level before hitting for max likes it does elsewhere. This is more damage than wizard nukes at this level. Level 15 mobs have roughly 400-450 hitpoints, less for casters, so when it crit this proc was one-shotting full HP white mobs even before I put motes in. I later made it rank 6 which hits for 256. With my crit AAs it hits for 768 on crits. Since shamans get dex buffs it's procing all the time. The first real undead nuke paladins get is Expulse Undead at level 30 and it does 106 damage which is kind of comical considering.

The "just play what you want" philosophy is something I normally subscribe to but when the gap is this large I'm just going to roll Paladin on launch.

Update:

It's a mess. DW is better than 2hander for Water pet so far, but 2hander may be better for air pet but my air pet is un-focused and level 0.

Basically: Giga proc > weapon ratio

My 49 focus water pet with just Burnout 3 is 100 dps with my best DW setup with rpocs, and is 81 with no weapons/procs at all. That's like a .96 Bloodmoon proccing soul leech and a .67 bloodfire proccing boil blood making up 19 dps for a 20% dps increase.

The same pet with summoned daggers (3/21) and no procs did 86dps.

I don't know, it does seem like there's use cases for different weapon types, but with the class bonuses these pets are getting weapon types vary in their usefulness.

I'd play a fresh run of that Pal/Shm/Mnk to test how mighty it is. Alt's on this usually blast everything with broken weapons immediately so it's a poor judge of how good a "starter" would be. Especially when you factor in the AA's you already have. My alts, even from 20 to 11 on another server, just were immensely more powerful than my true starter.

Looks like they used live as a template for Crushbone. Sarialiyn's Lute drops like from every fourth mob, and she isn't even in the game--it's for the revamped newbie armor and the weapon at the end. You need two orc jawbones in addition to the lute, but those don't drop.

Same for the Master Crushbone Cell Key, it's for the ranger newbie weapon quest, but the quest giver isn't in game and the orc eyes don't drop.,
