Leveling you can go far due to smite lowering loh timer especially with an enc and/or monk in your comp. I tried a fresh pal/bst/enc trio, and it was probably the most easy mode time I had of any comp. Raid bosses will probably need a healer though.
Was able to get in the tutorial on Neriak this morning. Mage can carry to 10 so fast lol

I'm trying to make 2x work. I'd love to have 1.25 1.5 1.75 etc but I can't complain. I'm old and blind.
I think you kinda have to go with the dark spell icons. I liked the originals but you can't see the key assigned with the bright backgrounds.

Having to have some type of healer really sounds like it will suck the life out of build creativity. Are there no augments or other ways to passively heal for melee builds? On THJ I think I only ever had one build that had a healer and it wasnt really for heals, was the damn cleric proc hammers.

Monk/SK/Bard would do really well solo. Ranger and Paladin could be swapped in there too.
Fact of the matter is, every single game needs healing, not just EQ.

Not gonna argue about needing healing, just a lot of people in this thread recommending to have a dedicated healer for one of the 3 classes. Think on THJ you could just get RORG on warrior or something similar (think zerker had something like it?) for 100% procs during duration with some healing augs and be set. Think rorg is a 1min cooldown? SK/RNG/ROG was my go too and SK would easily keep you alive though tap procs.

It’s just smoother to have a healer/buffer the first run. Once you’re geared and have AAs there is more flexibility.
From what I’ve seen in EQL and read about THJ, this version is as “lol, roll face on keyboard and win” which I’m thankful for. That sounds really boring.

There is zero shot you did high end bosses on THJ with just SK taps. Sleeper, Quarm, Seru, etc. would've fucked your shit up.

Wrong. Ranger bow shots had a stupid high proc rate. PoT/Quarm/Sleeper weren't a problem although I never did Seru or Bertox. Only other problem boss was Xegony with the massive slow.
Not me but for reference. Build was pretty nutty.

With SK/Rog/Wiz sleeper was "easy" once geared with 70%+ NToV loot (I think, I farmed it so long it all kinda blurs together for gear timeline). Don't remember if I ever got Seru with SK/Rog/Wiz or just went with Petcuck. Quarm was hit or miss, where I killed it a handful of times, then kept getting murdered at sub 30%. I got sick of leveling up gear swarming PoFire, so never got top BiS for PoP ironed out, but I'm sure with a few more maxed out pieces Quarm would have been fine.
Outside of Seru, I don't remember having much of an issue with any other boss that gear wouldn't take care of. When PoP came out I went directly to PoT before needing better gear to progress. Rallos Zek, in PoTime, was the boss I probably died to the most.

I watched a few minutes on stream just to see how it looked. Someone streaming was a challange runner and they were doing ocean of rears alone to 50 in the zone. They were hiding and moving all the small boats. No idea how they planned on going and getting new spells.
I don't know how it turned out but seemed pretty EQ ish to me.

Sorry you sucked at the game but the trick was to pull bosses to an area with trash so you could kill them for Mortal Coil procs mid fight, on Zeb you would just bring up P1 or RZ adds. On everything but the uber boss taps, procs and hybrid heals were enough.
