I am also feeling that Brad Pitt is the same character in all his movies as of late.

We also watched it last night and am in line with just about everyone. It was pretty bland as far as plot goes, generic, but visuals were great. Makes me regret not seeing it on a huge screen. Also kind of dumb that every race was like “ohh intense, we’re gonna do it!” Crash. Next race “oh we got a new strat.” crash. It felt like an internet meme of just their cars crashing every time. At least the other drivers made comments about it.

I mean, you just described Lance Strolls entire career, so there's at least some truth there.

Fatherless black male. White female boss babe. Washed up white male.

I'd argue some of his best roles have been playing a retard or near retard:

Twelve monkeys
The Mexican
Burn After Reading

This movie is like 30-45 minutes longer than it needed to be.

I finally got around to watching it. Good action and sound (except for some music choices that made me mute for a bit). Not very realistic, but dramatic, and no worse than drive to survive.

All the racing related stuff was kinda silly. Surprised they allowed all the cheaty tactics stuff.

Some of the crashes looked real but the one that turned into an airplane reminded me of B movies from the 70's where they would just throw a doll in the air.

Probably a 4 star compared to recent movies (not that I've watched many), and a 2 compared to back when movies didn't suck.
