Same. Local video store owner let us rent anything except the porn but let us rent all of the Faces of Death and the Shocking Asia series.

I didn't know those were fake. I remember kids renting them back in the 90's when I was in high school but I never wanted to see them and I still don't want to watch stuff like that.

My mom was always asleep at the wheel when it came to monitoring what we watched and listened to. I rented some sketchy stuff back in the day.

Depends which one you're watching. The original was mostly fake. Some of the animal deaths were real and the autopsy was real. Everything else, including the monkey brains scene is fake.

Yeah I remember it playing in the background at a museum. Stuff like the magician failing the spike trap was clearly an edited fake, but the African's fighting each other and cutting off body parts was all there in real 80s VHS tape footage lol.
