That was the whole vibe I got from the trailer.....which is disappointing. My guess is that Bethesda is going to completely phone it in and crank out what is basically just a reskinned FO3.
Would love to be proven wrong though.
Agreed, having Bethesda dictate everything you do sucks.Yeah I don't see Obsidian ever wanting to work with Bethesda again.
Pretty much my thoughts exactly.Meh, F3 was pretty weak (as was Skyrim).
If Obsidian was doing this I'd actually be excited as F:NV was the best Bethesda game ever made. As many people here have said they do desperately need to update their engine. For the record Gamebryo is less and engine and more a framework, and Unity 5 is probably not the answer, it has its own serious limitations (especially with lighting and effects).
with that, let me remind you. This fucking thread...

What does it matter if someone is positive or negative right now? Until the game is here, it's all speculation. If anything, it's probably better to be come in with low expectations and be pleasantly surprised instead of getting all nerd hyped for it.This fucking thread...

Pretty much this. My extreme enthusiasm for XCom games means that I will probably end up disappointed with XCom 2 unless it's a seminal masterpiece of strategy gaming. What does it matter if someone is positive or negative right now? The easy answer to that is we got a preview of id Tech 5 (?) with RAGE. It was nothing but long hallways and cramped "outdoor" areas (which were also suspiciously hallway-like). Gamebryo at least allows for truly open, outdoor spaces with no loading outside of fast travels and dungeons.Like I said above, the obvious solution is id Tech 5/6. I find it mind-boggling that they haven't taken advantage of being owned by the same parent company as id.
