Bro, you're being dumb. There was a whole universe with internal rules and stories for this....and they have ignored them all to make a show that is trash.
They are banking on idiots liking it and praying that a bunch of Fallout fans like the costumes, places, and allusions to the games enough to ignore that they don't give a flying fuck about telling an in-universe story.
If people that enjoy TV shows keep saying the same thing, then it *might* (stay with me here) be a problem with the industry and not the watchers.

This might be why I'm not particularly enjoying it.
I played Fallout and Fallout 2 in the 90's and loved them. Played Fallout 3 and 4 on release. Played New Vegas. Played 76.
I couldn't tell you a fucking lick of "lore" because it's either been to long or it just wasn't good enough for me to make space in my brain to remember. So all these little easter eggs about shit like Mr House mean fuckall to me (I couldn't tell you who Mr House is). I don't remember the ending to any of the games. Hell, I'm not sure I remember any quests except for the main one in Fallout 2 was to get a G.E.C.K. or water chip or something.
So as a standalone, the plot of this show isn't really impressing me so far. It's funny, in the "previously on" shit for episode 2 it showed everything that happened at the end of season 1, and while I remember the set pieces, I couldn't for the life of me tell you what actually happened. It just wasn't interesting enough apparently.

Even ignoring the fact that car looked to be a gas powered car (the same season has shown us what a nuclear car does when it explodes), it’s clear this BOS chapter are mostly meathead idiots. Season 1 even covered this when the Elder lamented the state of the BOS sect right now and how he wanted to change things

I dont understand. Ive never "loved" an IP so much that I eat whatever garbage is put out in its name. I dont understand why people continue to watch these shows/movies when time and time again its proven to be awful with the same awful writing, tropes and actors as every other piece of media being made today.

It’s a trope because it happens IRL. The people who inherit something aren’t always of the same caliber as those who created that thing. Decline isn’t always instant.
Plus in FONV the BoS in the area were defeated by the NCR and in a bad place - not unrealistic that their standards might be relaxed in order to replenish the ranks. Again, plenty of RL examples, including this very year

Holy shit that was a good episode. I loved everything. McCauley Culkin was great. Lucy getting her comeuppance was great. The pajeet getting his was great. The child sweatshop was great. The super sledge was great. Victor was great. Primm and Goodsprings was great. The NCR and Cesar's legion looked amazingly accurate. They really did a good job and paid a lot of attention to detail.
