The problem with this show going long is if they don't milk the Enclave stuff and don't get into Aliens then they have to invent new lore and we all know how that worked for Game of Thrones.

There isn't much of a risk of running out of lore/factions. I doubt we're going to get some 10+ season thing like Walking Dead. Besides, Bethesda isn't going to let them perma kill any given faction

I think Coop is actually headed towards or through Big MT (which has been teased in openning credits this season). I have to imagine that there is going to be a whole NV and NCR uniting with house against the legion and eventually mystery mutant (I think this is Marcus) teaming up to take on the Enclave for the next season or two. If they want to draw things out more, they can spend some time on Legion Drama (remember its larger than Texas) and the Burned Man if they so chose. The really big question mark is the brother and vaults with the whole Phase 2 arc. I can see a return of the Master kind of thing going on there, given past history with the Enclave. Maximus really was much better this season, probably because the time spent with trans thing was much more limited. Thadeus and the mystery salesman were both really fun, as well. The BOS could probably be stashed away if they wanted to do a season on their internal war later on. I think their involvement, as it pertains to these characters, has run its course.

I enjoyed the tons of easter eggs and I think the whole thing is on a massive upward trajectory. The biggest negative going into next season will be a likely reduction in screen time of MacLaughlin and the Legion conflict possibly eating too much screen time. I also think that Lucy plays better off of Cooper than Maximus does, but that was mostly some of the eyeroll stuff from S1 that went on. I can see Maximus being a folk hero (NCR has few if any experienced powered armor troopers and he is from their capitol town) reluctantly with Lucy being the more pragmatic part of the duo who works more closely with House. It also seems fairly likely that we will either get a Zak version of antiaging drug version of the USSA pres since they cast Clancy Brown for the part. I think that this could go strong two seasons with plenty of material with the current cast, if they keep things up like they have. The edgelords can suck it, this show is consistently entertaining.

I can't see goggins staying on. His stock is too high and this show is clearly going to peter out once the NCR/Legion/brotherhood battle happens.

These takes. Good Lord.

The Ghoul's next journey is Colorado and almost certainly the entire Enclave season 3 plot as they showed them there, so he will half almost half the show to himself dealing with them and Clancy Brown. Lucy will be trying to get NCR, Legion, House, Vault 32 and 33, Super Mutants (you dont get Ron Pearlman for that small a role and he seemed pissed about FEV), and maybe West Coast Brotherhood once Quintis is out of the way, to get along without use of the box to band together so there is actually a way to win against the Enclave for season 4 and to prove to herself / Hank that her way was right.

They start filming in May

My predictions:

1) Enclave releases FEV in the vaults. Good chunk of the residents mutate, some escape. Enclave shows up and Norm, Stephanie, and maybe some others get taken to Colorado (Claudia, Chet, etc). Norm and Stephanie act as our POV at Enclave

2) House proposes a mutual deal with Lucy/Max to counter Legion. NCR is wary but outnumbered they agree. House tempts Lucy with Enclave knowledge, Max is skeptical because Cooper told Max he was going to give cold fusion to someone bad

3) Liberty Prime Alpha gets built and ends the civil war. Quintus realizes Commonwealth has their own Liberty prime and therefore they need a leg up. BoS spy reports cold fusion might be in Vegas, which would make their prime more powerful. BoS attacks and House takes control of prime using Robco back door access, forcing BoS to retreat or surrender

4) Coop meets more ghouls/mutants on way to Colorado

5) Coop finally gets to Colorado. Mutants/ghouls with him get defeated. One Enclave is revealed to be Laney Howard, now an indoctrinated Enclave officer (my guess is she was de thawed about 10-15 years prior). She has Coop taken into custody for experimentation. Betty is being controlled by a mind device as punishment .

6) House Liberty prime and others attack the Enclave facility. Prime gets fatally damaged, House consciousness escapes somehow if he fully transferred to it. Coop finally gets through to his daughter, but he dies. His family escape the facility along with other vault survivors. Final scene teases the Institute

Why would the enclave be a major faction in New Vegas? They only had a few remnants that were recruitable by the player?

I think the NCR and Caesars legion are going to fight for the dam. Maybe Coopers wife will be an elderly lady now fighting with the remnants and he will be the one to recruit them to come save the day at the final battle. His daughter will probably be an adult and the next girl boss to take over the show after he leaves. Probably someone unbearable like Zendeya. Cooper will die in the finale.

I don't think Goggins is going to stick around and play third fiddle to the awful Lucy and Maximus characters. I can easily see him moving on to another show where he is the only lead.

They aren't a major faction in New Vegas, but they're a threat to every faction in the US. House would want them eliminated if only because they pose a threat to House.

The problem with your take is that Hoover Dam wasn’t mentioned once in the show. Show watchers have no idea why all these factions are fighting for the Strip.

*Also, why is Vault 32 saying "Death to Management"? Overseers are elected - we saw it happen in S1 for Vault 33.

Because they found out about vault 31 and how they were experimenting on them. Not unlike what happened in S2. BTW it was vault 32 in both seasons. eyepatch moved into the dead vault with half the residents of vault 33.

Multi season story arcs have to be judged by how much they move the story forward.

Proper seasons are 26 episodes. We're like halfway through the season now.

That's because not a lot did happen. And I'd say if you didn't play the games (or remember literally zero of them like me), it's even worse.

nope. I never played and I like it. Seems like the saltiest bunch are the people who played the games.

mystery mutant (I think this is Marcus)

I suck with names, who's marcus? If it's the indian coop saved in the war, then I agree.

Marcus was the Super Mutant who had a BOS pal (started as enemies) who he helped set up the town of Broken Hills for which he was Sheriff for a long time. This was in FO2 and he is a character that can be a companion in the game who is very intelligent (he was once a servant of the Master) but is committed to saving everyone from the Enclave by the end of that game. In New Vegas, he ran a hidden retreat up in the mountains where he helped other mutants learn to co-exist with humanity while working with an Ex Enclave scientist on a cure for the mental issues that Nightkin have, mostly acting as a quest giver. In both games he is voiced by Michael Dorn and is pretty much one of the more benevolent characters, despite his early days serving the Master.
