I'm honestly not a hang 'em high JUSTICE sort of guy. But that sounds kind of fucked up to me.

That DA must be retiring or something. I can't see how they get re-elected when the slogan is, "He let the pedophile loose".

Edit: Oh, Federal Prosecutors. Christ, that almost makes it worse. Either they railroaded the fuck out of this guy or they absolutely failed to do their duty.

Read through both of those links, and I still don't see how they had anything on him that could stick. Obviously they did, otherwise he wouldn't have copped the plea. I mean, he had over a month warning to get rid of his kiddie porn. That it appears he didn't is his own retardation. Most of the evidence comes from things he texted to an ex girlfriend. The most damning thing is that he said in those texts that he paid a 16 yr old for sex. Aside from the fact that 16 is the age of consent in his home state (where I'm assuming it happened since the article didn't specify another state), there's no way a text is proof, and no way they could prove that happened so long after the fact.

Then there was a reporter that he said creepy things to, like 'middle school girls are hot'.

I don't know, maybe his conscience is making him cop the plea.

He's not a 'kiddie diddler'. The age of consent is 16 in Indiana. Taking pictures of and filming minors above the age of consent is producing child pornography, but there's a pretty big difference between this and what people actually think of when you say child pornography.

I mean yeah he's a full blown creeper that would put Gaige to shame, but he's not a pedophile.

It seems like a trial would ruin him worse than a plea would. Because even though he was dealing with 16 year olds, he's not going to find a jury that lets that slide. He was dealing with a 16 year oldprostitute, and there just ain't nothing about that which is sympathetic. In that position it seems like wisdom to take a plea, save the lawyers the time, save yourself a few years, and beg to not be sent to pound-me-in-the-ass prison.

He's also giving them each 100 grand.
