There have been supposed leaks of the new jobs, the tank job even before the NA fanfest, and the phys ranged dps recently. I think they confirmed at NA that the new tank would be the 2nd "main tank" along with Paladin.

I hope we get something on 8 man theme, definitely expect more evolved mode, maybe they show off a couple of other classes than what they already showed.

Most likely more screenshots/reveals of the first couple zones. DT they eventually showed environments up through Solution 9, just nothing from Living Memory (Zone 6). Previously they've only shown 4 zones when it felt like heavy spoilers were in order.

The Norse theming though, kind of makes it hard to really hide any major themes.

We kind of already know that the next Shield based Tank class will be using some kind of Morning star/Mace blunt weapon, something totally new for 14 specifically(they've already stated that new jobs will be "new" job ideas), the new phys range I'm kind of iffy on.. crossbow doesn't really seem all that great(But with evolved mode it seems they are trying really really, hard to make each job have a individual "feel"). But honestly what else could you do for a phys range job, they already have bows/guns covered.

Unless they break tradition, usually all class trainers are based in Eorzea. So that rules out reflection jobs unless they pull some “I had a vision!” explanation.

Physical range could still be a gun - maybe laser rifle style. Right now we have pistol, bow, and Xena for physical ranged. Any thrown projectile has to come back or have a reason why you have unlimited ammo for it

If they wanted to get cheeky, ranged could be a job that throws a hammer and has it return to them like Thor lol

Isn't a laser rifle just Sage?

Sort of . Machinist is basically Edgar from FF6 and a sort of Jack of all trades gadget/weapon user. I don’t think machinist keeps you from using a gun
Type weapon on future jobs, though, so long as the kit is different enough

There's still the very common trope of dual pistols. Tons of asian mmos have that class archetype, basically Dante from Devil May Cry pistol stuff, spinning, whirling, jumping while firing infinite bullets kind of thing. It'd be very different from Machinist and would work fine. Other somewhat common theme is throwing cards. There's already Astrologian for cards but even then, a gambler-type class that throws cards and maybe money too would be perfectly fitting in FF universe since there's several precedents. And there's still Corsair, although there's some melee stuff tied to it, but could play like RDM with a melee burst phase and otherwise just shooting stuff with a pistol.

The new tank job looks cool - seems to be a 4th based job, so I wonder how they explain why a trainer is in Limsa lol. I guess you could just say it is some shit a pirate reaver cooked up when they captured some Garlemond shit and it just happens to align with the 4th.

Recap of the new shit announced

1) New tank job - main tank with dual shields, but they're also claws/guns. Looks like an armored up viking with some hardware strapped to their arms
2) Most of the zones on the 4th will take place on massive airships that are basically floating islands/zones - I wouldn't be shocked if they have some "Mortal Engines" style theme going on with some airship islands raiding others for supplies/resources
3) They're going to use a Shadowbringers-style introductory zone layout. If you recall in Shadowbringers, after you end up on the 1st you got a choice of the next zone (Alisae or Alphi's zone). You had to do both, but you could pick which one to do first. They're going to do something similar here, but it is 3 zones instead of 2. It doesn't seem to extend beyond those initial zones. So like SHB, it will probably serve as introductions to the different airships and then after you've done all your shit there, the main story moves on incorporating the elements from those zones
4) 8.1 they are overhauling the chocobo system. You'll be able to bring them into dungeons and give them jobs. More to come (people are already buying up onions on marketboard, so rip if you didn't have a leveled one. I suspect they're do away with the onions eventually when it gets to the time of this patch)
5) New 8man raid is going to be FF7 themed.
6) Adding a FF7 golden saucer area, including a new game that is a typing brawler (think Typing of the Dead). get rekt controllers. For rewards they have Barret and Tifa outfits....Barret you get a fashion accessory that turns your arm into a minigun that shoots as an emote.
7) The new cinematic shows some young catgirl with a falcon and her using some rune skill thing. They said she will be a key character in MSQ, so speculation on whether this hints at a new job. Probably not, or at least maybe not the full picture. Physical ranged that uses a falcon pet to attack would be interesting.
8) They're adding something called "world raids", although they said that name is just a placeholder. I'm wondering if it will be like the Bozja critical encounters, but in the overworld.
9) They went into more detail on the new difficulty between normal and savage. Sounds like it will be an incremental upgrade you can slowly build up

Live letter starting now, so more info on upcoming info (they're going into Beastmaster it seems)

Actually isn't based on the new place, but on original Eorzea, they had a slide mentionning it so going to copy paste the reddit post because I'm too lazy to check it out again, but it's based on the Aerslent in the North Empty, where the Roegadyns are from. Which is basically viking land, just not shown in the vanilla game, although most of them end up in Limsa Lominsa as Pirates and stuff.

For chocobos I'd be surprised if onions weren't just scrapped entirely or if there wasn't a new super easy way to get them tbh. That or chocobo new leveling will be an entirely separate system that doesn't care about your "outside" leveling, similar to Deep Dungeons alternate leveling system.

One thing they also mentionned about the multiple zones choice is they're adding content scaling. I assume it'll differ from the current way which basically syncs you to the content and work like Diablo 4 multiplayer areas where you can have a lvl 1 fighting the same monster as a lvl 60, and the damage is scaled based on the relative dmg of both characters to their appropriate level. Means it'll be seamless and you shouldn't run into thing like losing your last upgrade and what not. Also affects FATEs and leveling Dungeons in that expansion. This will likely also be tied to the overworld raid thing, similar to world bosses in D4 where you can participate regardless of your gear or level(unlike current S ranks where you just die instantly)

The Falconeer thing got another clue too I've seen on Reddit in another part of the stream when Soken was presenting something and they played the sound of a bird squawk instead of the right soundbyte, so it might be that.

Overall there wasn't too much being shown in this stream, mostly various locations and music(which sounded really neat). Also seeing a decent amount of people being annoyed that both raids will be collab raids this expansion(FF7 and Evangelion), instead of just one at most, which I think is a valid concern. I don't know why they picked the expansion they were doing the FF7 collab with(likely to help sales for the last episode) to also do an Evangelion collab(which could have easily waited 2 more years seeing as they're not doing anything with Evangelion currently anyway). Still I like both so I don't mind that much.

Beastmaster liveletter is later too.

So beastmaster info

1) Like Blue when it released - level 50 cap, 50 beasts you can capture
2) You can have 3 beasts at a time assigned for ready use. You have 3 horns that you use to call the beast. Once a beast is recalled, the horn goes on cooldown.
3) The live letter goes into more detail, but basically there are a few main abilities - an AOE that unsummons the beast, a "limit break" that you can do when your pet gets enough TP, and regular attacks. You can also take an ability from a pet, which unsummons it but you keep the ability for the fight (unless replaced). Basically it feels like more of a summoner class than summoner does at the moment lol
4) Beasts have different elemental abilities/etc
5) The special beastmaster mode is basically like Slay the Spire roguelite - you move up a path with a few choices along the way. You can preview the monster fights though so you can pick a good 3 beasts to bring in. You don't regen HP between battles, so you have to choose between resting or a chest or shop. It looked pretty interesting. Clearing stages unlocks harder modes.
6) You can earn near appearances for your captured beasts by doing this mode - like one they showed turned the mob from a white marble looking thing to a black and gold looking thing.

Anniversary and Evangelion is doing crossovers with shitloads of games. FF7 is also having its 30th anniversary next year and the final remake game, so I think it was just more of a coincidence/timing thing.

Yoshi had said years back if a FF7 release lined up they would love to do a collab. The issue is always timing they can't just cut in for 4 bosses it has to be all 12 for the raid/alliance series and the opportunity has to occur exactly when they would start development so the schedule would line up. That scenario occurred for Part 3 so they are doing it, for an expansion that is another shard without a defined boss lore anyways.

Some content creators are upset they aren't making a completely new boss series but 7 has a large variety of boss types to choose from, obviously Remake's Hell House comes to mind immediately. One patch could be Weapons, another Jenova themed, or Turks/Shinra.

FF7 raid will be super easy to fill with encounters, so not worried about that. Chances are each raid tier would represent each remake game. Still wondering what the Eva raid is going to turn out to be - I assume all (or most of) the fights will be the different Angels. Eva you could fit into the 4th since those big monsters are kind of Kaiju/Angel like I suppose.

Both presumably are going to be non-canonical, so they could either be some random shard/dimension the WoL visits with the key or they're some type of Solution Nine simulation we enter. They already established with the FFXI raid that Electrope can be used to create realistic simulated world environments. Heck, the fact we are getting a FF7 themed area of the Golden Saucer means the FF7 plot could be that Godbert wants to test a new highly interactive virtual environment attraction he installed using some electrope tech he purchased, which ends up being the FF7 raid.

Watched the live letter stuff quickly, the BST rogue-like mode actually looks kinda fun, they've put some real effort into it it looks like, it has unique items and stuff not just a series of fights like the Carnival. I was planning to resub 2weeks before the patch or so since I figured I wouldn't need too much time with BST but might cut that to 1 week so I have more time to do Beastmaster stuff after it. Still likely will want a week before so I can clean up the MSQ, all the dungeon stuff and start relics and what not.
