I guess I only saw this after you logged off, it's tough to catch people online but I'll keep checking for you and Doctor.
This is still the stupidest part of the whole game. Why can't they figure out how to add people to things when they are offline.

I've got 3 alts so I can have specialist in every craft. Only realized today after getting to 65 on my second char that I've never done a single class quest except on my main :D

The class quests go pretty fast if you don't mind the money, just buy the items directly or buy the mats on your main and craft everything at once, make a big list and then you just turn in shit. Still takes a while with all the running around on some of these quests though, especially since most of them involve running around inside the cities. Better get that Bard to 20 or if you've done the MSQ to unlock the higher zones just a MCH, so you can Peloton around.

Yeah, really wish they had adapted the Stormblood Crafting Job quests style sooner than now, with the whole "we give you the items you just have to make a special Job quest only recipe" thing.

Course I know plenty of people who've made bank over the years selling high priced Job quest items, lolol

When I did my CUL HW quests I ended up with too many of everything since you need like 1 food for the quest but you make them 3 at a time, it costs me like 3k of random mats and I sold the leftovers for like 120k. People are pretty lazy.

That said money seems fairly pointless and pretty easy to make nowadays. I still haven't actually crafted or farmed anything for the purpose of making money, but I've made like 50m since SB launch, just selling retainer stuff, desynth HQ mats and VI materias from hunts/leveling roulette and stuff like that. I'm not even trying to make money but I'm making a stupid amount just playing normally.

As someone who had all of his crafters at 60 (now 70) before the expansion, but had many of the crafting job quests stuck around the level 30-35 ones...omg yes. Most of the ARR stuff wasn't bad, but you get to HW and it was a real slog. Never want to need Deep Eye Tears again. SB versions were just awesome. Here's the mats, and a bunch of exp to boot to save you having to use another leve or two.

They need to just do away with the requirment for the main story for old expansions. There is fuck all fun about playing the game for 1 hour and all you do in that hour is teleport around and nod at people and maybe kill 1 or 2 mobs.

I understand the whole story thing it adds to making the wolrd feel alive yada yada yada but when you are not waiting for patches to complete the story and it just comes at you one after the other of cutscene teleport, cutscene .teleport . fly . cutscence. It just gets dull very fast

This is what's stopping me from coming back.

The real punch in the gut for me was when the story quest giver decides to give you an earpiece, so you can communicate from far away. YAY! no more teleporting, zoning 3x, airship 2x to talk to an NPC for 2 lines of dialogue.

NOPE, denied you get to run all the way back each time. Sorry!! lol ;\

They might still have to do something about it eventually, guess we'll see next expansion. Story skip is nice but means you have to make an alt if you later decide to see the story which is a bit dumb. A lot of people when a new expansion releases just want to play that new content first, and then once they're bored go back and do older stuff but XIV does force you to do everything sequentially. Doesn't help that the quality of the original work is pretty garbage.

In general they probably need to work on the low level experience overall. The combat is boring as fuck since they gutted a lot of the lower abilities, a lot of which were oGCDs, the story is meh, it involves a stupid amount of running, Castrum is still one of the most stupid designed dungeon ever and leveling isn't really that fast on the first char unless you have the new 100% xp bonus thing. I think an additional boost to xp the first time around(maybe just apply armory bonus to first char up to 50), a massive culling of the 2.0 MSQ shit and the 2.1-2.4 shit, removing a lot of the MSQ locks on features(not all, some made sense like chocobo or whatever, but some are pretty dumb), reworking Castrum to be solo, reworking the classes again to make stuff available earlier(you shouldn't go 20levels without getting a new skill like Bard and such) and the ability to skip expansions after that. Like if you hit 60, you can stop doing HW stuff and head to SB. Can come back later. Maybe have a warning to unlock the first SB quest like "warning, starting this questline might contain spoilers from previous content etc etc".

The story skip potions would still be there for people who just want to unlock all content at once, but they wouldn't be necessary(although arguably this might not happen since that would reduce the amount of story skip pot they sell).

Maybe won't happen next expansion but the one after for sure. It's kinda like how WoW had to redo a lot of shit with Cataclysm because it was so outdated. It sucks having to divert ressources from new shit into old content but the new player experience is vital for the longevity of a mmo, if people quit before they reach endgame, then they're probably never coming back.

They really just need to make the exp below 50 worth more. If the MSQ alone got you to 60 it would be fine. Remove some out dated things like seals for your chocobo so people don't get lost. Had a new player in my FC hit level 50 before they got their mount because there was no direction on what to do and they heard PotD was a good way to level.

The Feast is surprisingly nice for leveling. I'm getting under 20secs queues late night, games tend to be fairly short with a few dragging on, and it gives like 300k xp(more when winning, less when losing) at 68 which isn't that much, but pretty decent considering it's also kinda fun. Spamming it for the Garo mount anyway but it's pretty nice.

Got O3S to 1% tonight before enrage. It's a fun fight but there is a lot that can go wrong and make the entire fight spiral out of control, which can make it aggravating after hours of time spent in a "clear" party.

It's just recolored Shisui, pretty sure one of the sets look like that on males. Seems bad and lazy tbh.

One thing I don't understand about the economy here is how gil enters the world - for the vast sums that people throw around, it does not appear that there are easy ways to make it from the game itself; i.e. gil quest rewards and shit seem pretty paltry, and vendoring most stuff is for tiny amounts of gil. So where exactly does the gil come from?

Gil creation is primarily from challenge log completions, roulettes, adventure in need bonuses, aquapolis / lost canals, vendor exchange from Clear Demimateria III and GC seal items. Then it all gets funneled into crafters who buy everything from shards to mats to materia which then gets recycled and sold to the weebs who like minions and glamours and housing shit.

There is no NPC or game specific "determination" for the value of gil, it's hardly needed for anything except teleports and repair. So the amount and value is totally player and economic driven.

I make like 20k a day just from random roulettes and such. I don't try and make money and have about 3 million at all times plus or minus (and I constantly buy the GC turn in for my crafters)
