Going to be staying north of Miami for a few days, anything in particular I should visit? I love non-chain restaurants and anything to do with a toddler in tow is good too (other than the obvious hang out at the beach)

Sawgrass is a decent suggestion if you have a little kid with you. Lots of crap around there. Hardrock with a toddler might not be as good. In the same vein as Hardrock, is Gulfstream park. That's a bit further south than Hardrock.Gulfstream Park | South Floridas Premier Thoroughbred Horse Track and CasinoTons of restaurants and bars in the somewhat "recent" addition to the racetrack.

Downtown Hollywood(since it seems you're staying there?) has a lot of cool places to eat/drink as well, in the area of Young Circle.

Just as an update, Downtown hollywood was great (I liked it better than FLL or MIA), and my girlfriend really loved sawgrass. Great suggestions.

When we went to South Beach it was just ok. Lot of high end shops and expensive food, that was about it.

The only awesome part was going to the actual beach there and being surrounded by hundreds of topless women with humongous titties.

South Beach is awesome if you're in your early 20's and single or rich. I very rarely go down there in my 30's. I'd rather just go to Ft. Lauderdale or Hollywood beach, if I want to go to the beach itself.

I'm here right now (Deerfield Beach) so I should have consulted this thread earlier. I leave early on Wednesday but tonight and tomorrow night should be open. What's good here? Looks like there are some legit seafood and Cuban spots. Any beer snob spots? I see Funky Buddha is not far.

If you're in that area and want some simply righteous Indian food go to Indian Kitchen on West Sample Rd.

Un-fucking-believable how good that place is.

Like I said, I should have posted earlier. Already back in SF. I did make it over to Funky Buddha though. The Chicken N Biscuit there is fucking delicious. We took the clients to some touristy expensive place on Deerfield Beach called JB's. My expectation are really low for places like that but it was was actually extremely good.

I know some MMO peeps from Hollywood (outside of this forum) but I've never had the time to go visit. But for some reason I thought Hollywood FL was some kind of shithole?

Downtown Hollywood is pretty cool, but there are shitty parts and nice parts(much like any other south FL city).
