Also when you trade a pick for a keeper you are not just trading away a pick you are also not keeping some other player, its not the same as drafting that player with that pick, its significantly worse because by then you would have picked all the other players before.
Yeah, exactly. If I'm giving up a pick, I need to feel like there's either genuine upside potential or a guy has a track record of averaging a good bit more than the one he is replacing. A fourth round pick is still a necessary starter.

Yeah I get it, it's why I'm so critical of being offered [redacted] for my 1st rounder, when you consider it means I also would've had to drop Bowers or St Brown to keep [lesser player]

I would've been hesitant too and if I thought it was a toss up I would've kept Connor too. I like Connor a lot as a player, you just gotta wonder with Benson and age how much longer it can go, but you secured Benson in the draft smartly so you're set. I'm not really on message boards the way most people are or the way I used to be anyway so I forget that sometimes comments like I made can come across as critical when they're just meant more as, wow you guys could've had a guy who (by ADP standards) would've been kept in any other 14 man league and instead didn't wanna lose pick 90. I didn't mean for anyone to feel targeted or that it was a real jab at anyone's team.

Totally in agreement that I don't like Saturday drafts either, was trying to be considerate to our only foreign players with the late time and really wish if these flakes had let me know it was an issue we could've had better attendance. I hope I can continue commentate on the season without so much hostility going forward lol

does anyone have a roster of what team = what username. I feel like trade negotiations would be 10x faster if I knew who to talk to directly

Looks like James Connor is out for the year too. That's the way it goes. Can't go back in time with hindsight; I stand by choices at the time.

On a brighter note, I couldn't help but cackle at my special teams difference in my matchup: 30 to -5 and I won by 31 points, haha. Minnesota put a beatdown on.

Luckily had Minn in my other league.

If anyone notices a team not updating please let me know. This league has lasted so long bc it remains active and competitive and we want to keep it that way.

I think this is probably my best start to a year ever. 4-0, no games were particularly close, and not a fluke as I'm top in points too.

Incoming 12 game losing streak.

I feel like I’m stacked better this early in the season than ever before and what’s funny is the trade where the only person I knew irl blew a gasket too, has led to 2 missed games already which was part of the risk of the 190lb qb

Of course, I jinxed myself. James Conner's backup, who was looking solid, is out for a while and Bucky Irving seems like he's going to be out next game.

Carter getting the starting spot over Demercado... Fucking Cardinals. Good catch, there.

Edit: and he rips 81 yards in 2 carries while Carter has 3.1 ypc on 14. Maybe he hit on the coach's wife.

Edit: just realized the play was a showboat dumbass fumble, robbing his team of a TD. You'd think someone wouldn't do that when it happened just last week. I guess he didn't get the starter job because he's dumb.

Hot damn.

I need Chuba Hubbard to stay injured the rest of the season.

I dont see how that trade makes TOD845 better at all . Puka was the 1A or 1B top fantasy player until his injury . ( CMC would be the other at that point ) There's no way that Rhamondre ( i fumble all the time ) and Egbuka = Puka . If there's one thing this league has taught me .... People make some rather rash decisions when trading . But /shrug . Its their rosters and I'm not gonna worry about it anymore.

its hard to accept when the one way I justify it in my head is that "oh, TOD is a homer or likes some players over others and ham is sort of exploiting that" but Rhamondre Stevenson went one way and then the other

Well you're removing all context but yeah we work together, he's been asking me for Egbuka all year because of keeper potential and I felt the same, sees him as a ten year keeper and I see myself as having too many keepers again -- the trade was originally proposed pre Skat injury and we agreed in principle, we just had to resubmit it expired. the last few weeks I've been wanting to make sure Puka wasn't more hurt before we worked it out.

Stevenson had no perceived value August 31, everyone thought Henderson was the guy, Stevenson is the guy there, a lot changes in 3 months. Dowdle had no value 4 weeks ago, now I doubt I can get him for Chase Brown. Vrabel has shown he's gonna play him even with the fumble issues over the others

WR5 just got traded for a younger WR6, and WR 5 has a history of getting hurt regularly due to his playstyle. More of an argument in pure PPR, but time on the field is an asset.

He also missed the draft and had no QB. So I spent all $100 on Browning of my budget knowing people we need it then sold Browning to the highest bidder, which has ended up being WR10 and what was thought to be a starting QB for WR16. Browning was great 2 years ago when he took over for Burrow, he was ass and lost his job. I did the same thing I thought with Flacco, moving him and Dobbins for Chase Brown, and Brown ended up being ass.

Plenty of these trades dont go my way, had world war 3 over me geting Jayden Daniels (From a diff owner), who is QB22 and has a Q next to his name yet again.

I've made 24 adds this year and 6 trades, this is how I've operated every year. The only trade I feel like I've clearly won so far is the Rashee Rice trade but I saw that team needed players now and Conk was slow out the gate and pursued that. People behave differently when their players perform slow and people trade differently when they think 'maybe next year' - last year we saw Tlaw and BTJ get traded for Kelce, we also saw Josh Dobbs get traded for Tlaw and Ridley. This league isn't like other leagues when it comes to need

I traded Monte away in another league and now he's on my team again in that same league, things change.

I've really enjoyed playing with you guys for the last 15 years or whatever, but at some point this whole schtick is getting exhausting. The owner someone is mad at for trading with me changes every year and people now actively will not trade with me purely because it's me at time or will counter with something so insane it may as well be telling me to fuck off. I genuinely don't know how much longer I want to play if I have to explain myself every time. I know sometimes its just you want to post you strongly disagree with the trade, but the same guy refuses to trade away Puka in the other league we're in because it's not a keeper league so he's riding with him all year.

on the flipside, I'm looking to move a top WR for a top RB -- I'll throw back a RB too if needed, but I am looking for a bonafide stud and will pay what's necessary. Bijan and my QBs are the only guys I don't wanna touch now.

You keep saying some trades don't go your way, of course they don't! Its the fucking NFL!
The thing is that at the time of every trade with TOD you are on the better side of it and I don't think that's really up for debate. Sure maybe you are abusing your friend by understanding his likes and what not but yeah, sucks for the rest of us. That's all I'm saying.

Edit: to be clear, I will never turn down a deal I like, be it with you or anyone else. But we don't often look eye to eye on trades and thats fine... but its not because its you, I never negotiated with you in any way that I wouldn't with anyone else.

Yes, that's the point. everyone has a crystal ball on trade day for what they think the right side of a deal is, and my point is exactly the one you made, nobody knows...

And yes anyone who can know more about likes and dislikes can use those. I knew he hated the Minnesota QB situation but who here likes it? I also knew he hated having Garrett Wilson and as soon as I traded for Wilson I tried to move him off name alone bc I also didn't want him. Even rashyman was like "id trade Wilson as soon as you can" -- and he got his QB out of it, he won that trade for his need, he kept 3 WRs and Auto draft took Adam as his first pick. He had WR depth out the ass and zero QBs, we cant ignore context

D. Smith has outscored Jefferson this year and if Browning was 2023 Browning that would've been a 'loss' of a trade, but to me if you actually look at it there's no winner or loser when a 1QB team trades a likely Top 10 WR for a likely Top 20 WR (Smith has finished Top 20 every year and is WR10 this year). Even this Egbuka trade is WR 5 and WR6. Like.. these are the battles we're fighting? The fact that you said we don't see eye to eye on trades we offer each other should validate the reason we shouldn't have to have a town hall everytime I'm in a trade, you see it differently than other owners... and myself. I offered you Brown and Egbuka for JT over the weekend, and Justin Jefferson, Fanning and Chase Brown for JT, you don't see that as good value, that's fine, there's owners out there who would definitely be like oh im downgrading X but I'm not starting Kayshon Boutte anymore so its worth it for me. That doesn't make either of you right or wrong. On august 31st though you probably accept that trade immediately, see how things change as the season shapes up? I know you know this, you're a smart football guy, so maybe you didn't look at the big picture and are reacting to just on paper, but August to November is a lot of time for things to flip

That's all I've ever done, look for someone in a bad spot or having to start someone I know they don't want to and start working that until we close. This is only TOD's second year in the league and it aint just my second year hearing this

I feel bad for Puka. He'll probably break his leg now. Ham tinkers alot and half the time the stud he ripped off ends up on IR

I'm even open to trading Puka for the right RB, this was as much about him wanting Egbuka as me wanting Puka, people have their guys.
