I guess what I'm saying is, it still seems like more of the same. People not talking to each other (that's getting slightly better, but it's never the ones who need to), acting retarded, etc. It's definitely suffering from the Lost phenomenon of just adding more and more shit. As people have mentioned, the monsters are barely even in it anymore because they've introduced so much other bullshit.

But I'm still watching. It's better than most of the shit on TV today.

So my internal thought process is like this - they're in Ravenloft so not only are all of their ideas about getting out are doomed to fail most or all of those ideas are planted by The Dark Powers. I'm excited to see how each idea ends in ruin. I'm here to watch the actual hero of the story, the town, fuck these people up in new and inventive ways. It has been revealed that there's a cycle to Fromville and we're approaching the conclusion of the current one. I like getting little tidbits like The Man in Yellow probably manipulated Boyd's wife in to killing all the people. I hope Victor's dad's high score is even higher while Jade gets everyone he takes underground killed.

I'm having a good time.

Seeing Boyd ring the bell at sundown before getting some monsters at night action was nice. I think this show really missed out on nearly abandoning those things in favor of general weirdness.

Episode quality was average for the show. It was mostly setting things up for a future episode while not much happens.

Best part of the entire season was Henry (I think? Victor's dad) and his whatever the fuck that was. Whether real or imagined. Most interesting thing so far. And it was like 8 seconds.

She went to the lighthouse and escaped back to the real world. Found Victor's dad, something happened with him (heart attack?), and an ambulance came and got them both. Ambulance got sucked into From world with super annoying blonde cop girl.

Which is why whatever that was supposed to be (with Victor there as well) was confusing and actually interesting. It's probably the From world fucking with him, but instead of elaborating on it we got the usual, "uh, got to run, bye!" Exit stage left, don't explain shit to anyone else despite every single person there having experienced weird shit as well.

It's why Donna's "you can't tell these people stuff" spiel is so retarded and she's quickly becoming a nonsensical retarded character. Yeah, don't tell them about Tabitha and Jade because that's certainly a bridge too far in a place you can't leave, the radio talks to you, and food just appears.

There's been enough cases of people being manipulated in to doing crazy shit that everyone telling everything whenever they experienced something supernatural would be a good policy. Sara killed her brother and was going to kill Ethan, Nathan was helping weird kimono lady ensure Smiley gets reborn, that kind of shit.

I took the flashes Victor's dad was having as being directly caused by the the (wo)man in yellow dropping some blood in his drink.

I was legitimately worried about Kenny, thought they were setting him up for the fall. I need the actual sufferable characters to stay alive.

*Kenny completely freezes*

I want that to be a plot point demonstrating that Kenny isn't trying so hard to stay alive anymore but I fear it's more of the show's "the first draft is good enough" writing. The other problem with that scene as written is all the ghouls teleport to the front steps or door of each of Kenny's nearby options without anyone stationed at those locations yelling at him that theirs is blocked. In fact we don't see any other residents at all monitoring the situation.



Boyd and Ellis are in that building, the de facto sheriff's station except they yell nothing at Kenny to update him on the situation. The way this scene is filmed they are not even in the windows.



Wait, there he is. In the insert shot.

It's like they filmed one version of this where Kenny does this all on his own and then another where it was a coordinated plan and then edited them together. Maybe initially Kenny does this to keep Boyd from taking the risk but then they went with Kenny convincing Boyd instead but a bunch of shit was already shot.
