I just couldn't get into the first one. WTF wants to play a game that ALWAYS has you on the edge of life and death.

Well good news, it's no longer a game about keeping a relatively tiny population alive as you walk the knife's edge between life and death.

Now it's a game about keeping a much larger and more demanding population alive as you walk the knife's edge between life and death.

Frostpunk 1 was definitely stressful to play, it was a pretty interesting experience. Very little replayability though. I'll probably check out #2 once I'm finished with Satisfactory.

First game really grabbed me, you just have to figure out what resources are important and not care if the one legged child has to work an extra shit today...

First one was great, keeping a city alive on Extreme difficulty was wild. I'm enjoying this one, but it's not the same game at all (which is fine for a sequel). Still plenty of shit to stress about, but feels easier overall (not sure how much of that feeling is carryover experience from the first game). Focus is more at the macro level instead of individual people and buildings.

Man i memba from frostpunk 1 playing one of hte long scenarios ,or maybe endless mode. how good it felt when i finally started to produce prostheticsc, and the steam punk gimps who had lost limbs to frost punk formed the reinforccements, like rohan showing up, shuffling and clattering to fill in working requirements during a key cold phase. getting the first few automatons online, to work the cole mines far from any source of heat. man that shit was rewarding.
