Sort of related, also a bit of a pet peeve of mine
people always going on about "You can't eat (or feed your kids) sweets (cake, ice cream, pies etc etc) for breakfast!
Then they shovel god damn donuts down their throat! It's the same god damn thing

You are absolutely right about that. If we have an apple (or whatever) pie for dinner and there are leftovers, that's fair game for breakfast. And not just the pie...How is it best served? With ice cream! So yes, in the Dirk household you can legitimately have pie and ice cream for breakfast.

Anyone remember the "hack" for these machines where you could allegedly tear a notch in one of the sides and it would simultaneously reject the bill and spit out the coins? As a kid I always tried it and failed. Looking back, I think it was obviously bullshit or impacted a very specific machine that was fixed quickly. I'd be really curious how many bills got pulled out of those machines like that.
