Back in the 90s I worked on a TV show and we had Griffith on. He was getting ready to release his gospel album.

Let me tell you he was a grumpy old f*ck. His handlers instructed us not to ask or bring up anything about his original show. I suspect he was more Larry "Lonesome" Rhodes than the loveable Sherriff he portrayed.

Aunt Bee wasn't in the Return to Mayberry, the made for TV movie where fucking EVERYBODY came back, because she was pissy about fans thinking she was like her character. When Andy visits Bee's grave that bitch could have just been in the movie and gotten a paycheck and everyone would have continued to think she liked baking pies.
