Here is a fun story about the absolutely STUPID rules in Clark County (Las Vegas) NV. Their pool specs require 10ft-candles of light around the pool area and to further add to this stupidity , the 'pool area' was the water and 10' back. FYI: That is a lot of light to throw at night.

I did this property in 2019 and the owner refused to allow pole lights because they are 'ugly'.

See that seating area in the middle there? It was designed with this gay ass chandler that did not even come close to meeting the requirements. I know because I took this photo from the roof when we were doing light meter readings. Know why it's so bright now? That's right kiddies, I put one of those 300W high bays in the canopy, you could do fucking surgery in that seating area.
