My grandfather was a P-38 pilot in WW2. A few years before he passed my aunts and uncles got him a flight in a P-47. It was a really awesome moment for him and our family as he was flying over the family farm where our whole family was gathered. He passed in 2006 and the Air Force sent two F-22's to fly over his funeral. Taps played and as soon as it finished they buzzed over head close to the ground. I haven't cried that hard before or since.
