There’s a reason they call them Cow Killers. We have them now in SoCal. We have tarantulas in the palm and oak trees occasionally. These show up, but a little darker. Many are wingless. I assume male/female thing.

Ffs those are completely different species although they are all Hymenopterans. That's a velvet ant (although it is a wingless wasp in actuality).
