Chillon Castle, near my place.

Strategic place, as it would lock the north (Germany, France) and the South (Italy) by blocking the Rhone's valley. Plus, you had a clear view of all the Savoy riviera. If you like old castle, it's worth a shot. Built in around 11th century, but items from the bronze age were found around the place, so maybe there was other buildings on the same spot.
