I have a small torch for food only that I use to brown my custards. Just aim for the middle and don’t sweat if the edges are browned when you have one with a crust.

Yeah, I thought about getting ours out, but didn’t bother. Other than smoking/grilling, and handling frying anything, I don’t typically have cooking duty. That’s an easy bake though, and it’s probably my favorite pastry, and it’s still awesome even if not pro quality.

I love the internet - as soon as I saw the tag line for this ring, I immediately thought of 13th Warrior (and so did a ton of other people in the comments.)

A ring was found in a 9th century Viking grave with the inscription “For Allah” in Arabic.

He was probably a Varangian guard that won that ring off a dead Mussie while fighting for the Byzantine empire.
