1st burial at sea, USS Columbia (CL-56). My mom's brother. He died in a 5" gun explosion before she was born. My grandmother was never the same according to everyone who knew her.

1st burial in space, USS Enterprise (NCC-1701). Spock. He died from high levels of radiation. Capt. Kirk was never the same.

Oddly enough the picture I posted is from the Sulu sea. The same Sulu that Sulu in the series was named for to represent Asian culture without using an actual country.
