Sort of. There's evidence that the woman is supposed to have multiple mates and let the sperm sort it out in the end (sperm from multiple partners appears to work harder to compete with each other) but there's not exactly a shitton of research in that area yet. So the "for the human race" argument supports the idea of everybody fucking everyone else, essentially, which... eh could be worse.

Not that anybody is really able to be objective about the whole thing, anyway.
