I mean it was in the works at google for years prior, but yeah that's just standard HR requirement bullshit.

Legit, if you have -any- kubernetes experience, you're above like 90% of applicants for most positions that may involve cloud based infrastructure. Thing is, your little homebrew raspberry pi "cluster" is absolutely nothing like production will even sort of be, so hard to get that experience without actually being in a position that does utilize it regularly. But man, even just understanding the kubectl and helm deployment shit will take you far in today's environment. Very much the golden goose for tech atm.
