Was stationed at Humphreys in SK in the early 2000's. The base was fine to the point of being a normal state side base. But going out into South Korea - I was amazed how how civilians were packing themselves into boxes even back then. I can only imagine its gotten way worse in 20 years time. Travelled all over that country though and saw some amazing places. Outside of the living situation, I still think South Korea is a wonderful place to visit.on a last minute trip to skorea, i wanted to find a hotel close to the train station and with your own shower (called private, not public), and basically thats what they had on short notice. the room was small too, like it was only a full sized bed and a desk was like 8inches in depth.
i mean... was it weird to shit and shower while my wife watched sitting on the bed? well you get over that on day 2, heh
oh btw, you learned real quick to TAKE the toilet paper with you, out of there, ha
