The weirdest thing is there are Americans who still dont. Instead they wait like 5 fucking minutes and are rewarded with the second worst sound on the planet

Americans, in general, don't drink enough hot tea to spend money on a electric tea kettle. I make a gallon of Iced Tea every 2 or 3 days, and just use a regular old 2qt pot to boil the water in, then poor that in the pitcher with tea bags and let it steep (then fill the pitcher with cold water, once it's done brewing). No need to use an annoying teapot that you have to descale on the regular.

Add a couple bags of herbal tea with the black tea will allow you to make various flavors and still get your caffeine.

If you are making hot tea for 3 or 4 people, I would guess that it's faster to boil water in a teapot over using the microwave. A microwave also heats the cup more than just pouring hot water into it?

I don't much care for black coffee and I don't drink my calories (by adding cream and sugar). So tea and energy drinks are my only options for caffeine.

This was a good book. I tried reading it, but I r dum and had to switch to audio book to better digest the proper English.

Anyways, if these new conservative alternatives to Hollywood would just make direct translation of the book to screen, things like this would do very well. I also think it would encourage people to read things such as this. Anyways. Good book. Great pictures.

Time for coffee derail?!

yeah, euro weirdo's use electric tea kettles. basically the same tech as a coffee maker. water basin, with electric heating element directly in the water. more efficient then propane or stovetop burner, which wastes alot of heat. Microwave is just as or more efficient though.
The danger with microwave is super heating. too perfect of a glass surface and the water doesn't form bubbles. it then explodes when you agitate it. to prevent this, place a wooden spoon in the water while microwaving.

I make quite a bit of tea. usually just microwave it. Microwave is busted, so have been just putting the water through the Mr. coffee. no filter, no coffee. without the filter/coffee drip, its pretty fast. temp is lower then full boil however.

Terrible way of making coffee.

Take a few more minutes and do it by hand after heating up the water in an electric kettle or on a stove and use something like a Hario v60 or a Kalita and such.
Lots more options though!

For real though, its really good.

Something like that, I assume. The good electric ones that they use in Europe cut down boiling times by almost 50% over boiling on the stove, but they use 220v as standard, instead of 110v. In the US, 110 electric kettles are only ~20% faster.
