omg that just triggered a flashback. there was this girl back in college i was kind of into. sometimes we'd just spontaneously take day trips to chicago (this is like 20 years ago, pre-ww3 chicago) and check out the sights. anyway, one day on our way back i was kind of craving red lobster and suggested we stop there. she had never been and also said she spent most of her money earlier in the day. so, partially because i was a bit smitten and partially because i just really wanted some shrimp, i was like, don't worry, i'll take care of you. she then ordered like a $75 lobster without batting an eye. that was the last time i ever bought her anything.
