Jesus, this reminds me of that fad (at least in Europe, don't know if you Yankees were spared it) from the early to mid 1990s of people putting so-called anti-static straps on their cars to help ground the vehicle. Man, some people made a lot of money off of idiots in those years.

Would not have worked in the US, we run a different voltage than Europe.
