This is literally the small town in Kentucky that I was born and raised in. I currently live within walking distance of the event.

I cannot wrap my head around the bucees craze, stopped at one of the new ones a few years ago on a road trip and it was a shitshow. Pumps all packed with people 2-3 deep, and the inside of the place was nuts, nothing in there could be worth fighting those crowds. Bathrooms were clean at least. I'll pay a few pennies a gallon more and stop someplace else thank you.

Edit. Forgy which forum I was in. Sorry.

It's a gas station with moderately above the table eats and snacks, decently priced gas, and Americans working for a relatively decent wage...people over think the shit out of this stuff.

I would stop there over like Loves, but the difference is minimal.

For road trips they are cool to stop at, get some roadie snacks, coffee and something for the kids. Wife uses the chance to browse for shit I throw away 10 minutes after arriving at our destination and the fudge. Though, to be fair, they sell some decent "damn I forgot to bring a gift for X person" type stuff. Then again, unless it's a major weekend, most the time we stop, there are like 50 to 100 people inside in total. (the place is pretty big so, that is basically empty ..)

I dove into this Buccee's shit after going there (won't be going back) but to ride off your "decent wage" comment. Their employees are actually paid very well compared to 90% of the jobs around it. The average for my area for wages is just over $12 an hour. Hell, even fucking state government positions start at $10.

Buccee's employees...start at $20+ an hour with plenty of room for advancement. Apparently they have some great benefits as well. So, kudos to them for actually paying a livable wage and then some. If customer service is your thing it definitely sounds better than working at fucking Walmart.
