No disrespect but I really want to come to see what the fuck is going on at your Thanksgiving, it's going to drive me fucking crazy thinking about what you could possibly replace pumpkin pie with that could be better.

Apple, sweet potato, and peach cobbler! I am dead serious when I ask this. I've never had pumpkin pie, is it "better" than those three? Now I hate sweet potato anything, so apple pie and peach cobbler?

Thats up for you to decide. For example, I love a southern baptist kind of Pecan Pie because it has way more sugar. So much so that it turns into like a pecan syrup around the crust. You'll know its southern when you ask them what kind of Pie it is and they come back with Pe-Can instead of Pe-Khan. But I havent had it in years because Im afraid of being fat again, or worse:

Pumpkin Pie is something that has to be made properly with a good brand of liquor (a nice Whiskey imo) and strong seasonings. People will swear up and down all day long that "You can make it without it!" But IN MY OPINION - its not even a real Pumpkin Pie at that point. Some sugared up vegetarian BS. Flavorful/Strong/Impactful Seasoning and made with something like Wild Turkey 81 is just the chef's kiss. (Some people prefer a good Apple Brandy etc. It comes down to the flavor profile you want it to have as a personal preference obviously.)

Pumpkin pie, made correctly, is magical. It needs to all be hand made, use real, pie pumpkins, and have a well made short crust. Get the spices right, and yes, a dash of whiskey helps a lot. Once it is mostly cooled, have a dollop of fresh whipped cream on it. It's seriously good. Don't go to the store and get a pie, make one, or get someone to make it for you. Even if you don't like the squash, this is great.
