Could be worse, at least that imitation vanilla doesn't have any coumadin (blood thinner) as it's primary ingredient like some of the imitation vanilla from tourist spots!
PSA: Vanilla extract has a price floor due the cost/labor involved in growing and processing the bean. If the price is too good to be true, it is probably imitation using vanillin or coumarin. Products from Mexico and the Caribbean have less scrutiny on actual ingredients (such as still using coal tar food coloring to turn it brown), although the Caribbean imitation Vanilla a family member gave out as gifts one year actually had coumarin on the label...
