When I lived in Myrtle Beach SC I had what I called a Hurricane go kit. It was (6) tins of Vienna sausages and a jar of apple cider vinegar. If the power went out long enough I had to eat that shit I'd leave. Never left. Even for Hurricane Floyd , which was CAT 5 when it came up the east coast.
