So the internet comes through and finds something random from my childhood.
When I was around 4 years old, I remember seeing, at my grandparents summer apartment, a magazine cover with a bizarre image of a man partially submerged in water. But the man’s face under the water was a skeleton.
I finally tried to google it last night and figure out what it was:

Smithsonian has the full original art apparently
Definitely an unnerving image from my childhood, but I wouldn’t say it scared me
