Yup, friend got plastered drunk and could not drive. We drove her home and got her in the drive to her garage. All she had to do was move forward like 10' and get out. Next time I'm there I get both parents 'when she gets like that again bring her ALL the way in. Apparently she hit the fucking side of the garage. Raised different indeed. My mom (and this girls mom too now that I think about it) would get us booze/beer/liquor. Frankly drinking got boring after I could do it legally.

Full on ragers at the house... police were called, mom came out and basically told them to leave, no one was driving, they weren't hurting anyone, cops left, make sure everyone stays put. We were in HS 1980s. Wake up to a pile of bodies passed out everywhere. No one drove home drunk

I took auto shop in high school (to fuck off mostly) and someone donated a 1963 AMC Ambassador Station Wagon to the shop class. Our shop teacher was cool as hell (he went drinking with us on the weekends - we were ALL underage) and decided to get the car running and put it in the demolition derby during the county fair. One of our 'tests' was to take it to the edge of the woods and knock all the glass out of it. Pic isn't the exact one but it's the same year/brand.Remember when cars looked like this?

Funny I was just talking to my wife about high school in Scotland while my dad/family was stationed there in the mid 80s. Even coming back states side and being in highschool in the early 90s things were so different than today. In Scotland i was 11? Maybe 12 when I entered high school (came back to US and put in 7th grade) and they treated you like a young adult. Lunch time? That's your time. Do whatever just be back in time for next class. Me and my friends would go into town for lunch etc. Back states side it was like a prison in comparison. Also want to say we there during Chernobyl incident.

We lived in Burnside and it was fucking amazing. That close to the beach/harbor and could walk/ride everywhere. Pretty big culture shock going from Goose Creek SC (Dad stationed in Charleston) to tip of GB. Can see Pennyland on the below map which is where I went to primary(elementary) school. Made some great friends. Teachers were amazing. Would walk from where we lived in Burnside out to Scrabster to fish/sail. Knew the kid that lived in the lighthouse there and thought that was amazing.
Any of you GB bros or those traveling I highly recommend getting up there.

Never been to Scotland, wife is from the Blackpool area & we were planning to go in 2020 but COVID fucked that up. Never cared for Charleston. It's apparent it was made for the horse & buggy days and I was there to work (construction) & we learned the hard way if you want to work in Charleston you needed to bring your own men. All the locals had a steady job or were drunks. I think Boeing was hiring like mad at the same time too. But MAN I loved me some Patriot Point. Went to a wedding on the AC , toured it a few times, the subs , The civil war fort where it all went down. Love that place.
