Okay people need to have coloring pages with lines because we aren't all Picasso with the ability to make our own art.

Cue a stupid discussion about spoilers and the ever popular show Game of Thrones. I watch over fifty unique TV shows a year and not one other show since Lost needed this level of hand holding on how to handle spoilers. Lost was just a week long moratorium for spoilers of that episode. With Game of Thrones we have books to worry about. You would think a bunch of fantasy MMO gamers would read these books ... they do not though.

Here are the options we have for the way forward to be voted on by the people that may care.

Option 1 - Big Boys Rules

This option has a single thread dedicated to season 6. In this thread all discussion of the current episode will be done inside of spoiler tags. After the next episode has aired then you may go about discussing the previous episodes freely without spoiler tags. After the season finale there will be a three day period allowing people to watch it before open discussion. Maybe they were locked in a storm cellar and need those days. If by some miracle a new book comes out you may post about it and will preface the spoiler tag with the word "book" or the title of said book. This means outside the spoiler tag so it appears before the button.

Thread title will be: Game of Thrones - Season 6

Option 2 - Elitist Theories and Stupidity

This will be status quo of what we have now. Two threads in the TV house and a third over in the book house. It is basically so you can be a hipster and post about what you read before it is made into a moving picture. You probably also watch a silent film at least once a month. The rule about leaks of episodes and screen grabs applies to needing a spoiler tag. You can discuss the books freely if Martin pulls it off and actually writes the next one, book 5.

Thread titles will be: [SPOILERS] Game of Thrones - Season 6 and Game of Thrones - Season 6 and in the book house it will be Winds of Winter - Book 5 GoT

Option 3 - Crybaby Emporium

You can't handle super simple instructions and accidentally click on something and spoil it and you cry like a baby. This option is just telling you to go post on a bodybuilder forum where they don't have these complications because none of them read.

Thread title will be: How TO loOk az gud as Mountain - bodybuilders.com

In all reality there are only two options but some of you are stupid and need to show your rebellious streak so you will vote for three.

people voting to merge the threads that havent read any of the books need to know that people who post in the "Spoiler in tags" thread are really sloppy about using the spoiler tags when discussing leaked info about unaired GoT TV episodes and we never use it for book stuff. so the potential of careless talk about book and unaired TV show stuff in one merged thread is going to be high. i mean if it doesnt bother you to read through accidental (or too lazy to use spoiler tags) discussion about book stuff that sometimes has characters you may or may not know doing stuff or not doing stuff like the way they did on the tv show then by all means vote yes for merging the threads. just dont believe people will all honor the spoiler tags rule.

We aren't merging threads. We are talking about moving forward with new threads that have new rules.

We are all adults here I can't believe this is even a discussion.

People should man the fuck up and stop letting the tears flow from their vagina's. You're on the internet, shit is going to get spoiled. If you want to avoid it go dig a hole in the ground and stop looking at places you're highly likely to see it spoiled, like a thread about it.

Besides, the shits pretty much current, and we aren't going to get the next book, so it's all fair play.

Didn't really notice there was a book spoiler thread. So what's the story then? There should be a TV with no spoiler thread and a book thread, with the third being a "no holds barred all discussion" thread.

Don't want spoilers? Don't click on it, plain and simple. If people cry "omg spoilers" in the all spoilers thread, infract them. Stannis those fucks.

What brought this latest round of the discussion on was really the leaked show materials coming out before they aired; full episodes, scenes, screenshots, and to a lesser extent stuff like casting info. Some people don't want their weekly viewing spoiled by that sort of thing and while I'm not in that group (give me full penetration spoiler porn thx) I understand the desire to have a thread for discussing the show through the lens of book knowledge without having to worry about someone dropping leaked info outside of spoiler tags because they can't bothered. I get it.

I'd rather not have to wade through long series of tags. I'd rather not have the why didn't you tag that/why are there tags in the spoiler thread/why are people such pussies back and forth on the regular either. It seems like the current threads should work with an understanding of no leaked show info in either of them, then a third thread for anything and everything would do that, but it doesn't look like that is an option up there. Oh well ...

It's a fucking retarded poll, why do we even need this? We already had this discussion last month, and Tuco ruled it staying the same. That should be the final law,
The people that have read the book vastly outnumber the people that have not on this board, so this poll is wack.

And there are aspects of the books that haven't been developed yet in the TV series, so they are still ahead.

Even if George releases a book while the new season 6 is going, Tuco will have to split them again. So just keep everything as is.
It's amazing that you people can't handle 3 separate threads 6 fucking years later...

Also, if everything was to go under one thread with all your rules you know as well as I do people will still post book spoilers, and claim they didn't know the rules, or they weren't specific enough....
Only way to even enforce that is to give everyone a 1 year ban on first offense in anything that is in the current ,or new book ,and not spoilered tagged with [book]. All the discussions such as changes from Episode x versus the Book x will have to be spoilered.

So what you have left over is pretty much all the people in the un spoilered version still speaking freely, and everyone else in the book/spolier threads having to spoiler everything in case they might leak something that hasn't been developed from the books to the TV series yet.

What we have currently has worked for the Un spoilered thread for 5 years now with very little incidents such as Itlan going full retard, and even when that happened it was dealt with swiftly. It is one of the few places on the internet where people just watching the TV series can go, and not be afraid of getting any spoilers in the current series, or if they want to read the books after the series is done.
