There’s a recent show on Netflix that has kids knowing who Garfield is. I’m guessing they’re just hoping kids who watched that will ask their parents to see the movie. The parents probably don’t like it or follow it but they know what it is from when they were kids and will go due to nostalgia.

It was a ok, fun at times. Youngest kid laughed a lot at the slapstick. It's silly, okay story, a bit long though. Cut 30 mins and it's doable without booze from a pocket flask. We watched the syncronized, localized language version. Waiting on the us chris prat version from the high seas.
