I do like fresh grown spring onions just soaked in salt brine, how many of you dip them in cracked pepper. Best with good sharp cheddar and summer sausage and crackers. That's something my grandpa used to always eat, and like most grandpas, they typically knew best.

I assumed TomServo TomServo was referring to a picture I posted of my wife making a cheese & onion sandwich. No idea how it tasted as fuck that but it sure looked pretty gross.

I guess it really would depend upon the type of cheese and bread, and what you're dressing it with. I think sometimes people will make a tomato and onion sandwich, and I don't imagine that using some good blue cheese or something wouldn't not be bad with thin sliced onion, especially if your grilled it.

Just based on the comment all I can picture was a slab of raw onion with butter on it, which would be pretty hardcore. I mean I love onions but I don't think I could do something like that.

I bet a thin sliced onion, fresh tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, olive oil, balsamic drizzle, and salt and pepper would make for a pretty awesome sandwich though, especially buttered and grilled.

I’ve always wanted to dip raw onions in caramel and serve them to my nieces/nephews on Halloween. A true trick or treat.

Buttered and grilled onions, cheese, toast, and then add in a burger patty and you’ve got yourself a stew cookin’ (or a patty melt)
