Okay for some years I've been using an Xbox Elite controller on my PC. In the past few months I've been messing around with games on various devices like Steamdeck but I just want to use the one controller. I discovered that the Xbox controller has no memory for bluetooth/wireless to multiple devices even if you use the dongle to do it.

Between my Steamdeck, MacBook, and PC you have to tediously pair it each time. Rather than a seemless connection like Airpods, Logitech Mice, most modern wireless keyboards, and so on. I discovered that this was actually by design for some retarded reason.

But the Playstation DualSense controller works how I would normally expect bluetooth to work in 2025, and I guess now 2026. So I bought one and life is good again. That is real stupid though, why Microsoft gotta be like that?

lol. I’m using an Xbox 360 wired controller on my Pc. I know it has a shitty dpad compared to the Elite but I like how it feels.

MS is retarded about everything. BT doesn't work reliably on any of my Windows boxes, and they all have different wireless chipsets. PS5 controller connects and works great, then for no reason Windows won't connect to it at all.

I don't even run windows at home anymore. I just have Mac and Linux. PS5 works perfectly with both of them and I don't even have to mess with it lol.

They are very sneaky. They all LOOK like paper.

I mean if you buy shit like Lipton, they don't even buy tea. They basically pay for the dust left behind after the real tea buyers leave and they sweep the floor. But british brands you'd expect wouldn't do it.

I'm on a ginormous box of british tetley right now but the next box I buy I'm going to at least try to get it plastic free.
I expected better of Yorkshire Gold. The Spiffingbrit has disappointed me.

Bear in mind that even articles from 2024-25 still cite information from half a decade ago when people didn't really give a shit about the microplastic thing. A lot has changed, not in just teabags, and it's very likely that many/most of those brands no longer use anything but plastic free/compostable bags. Tazo, for example. They changed their bags at least 2-3 years ago, yet all these misinfo peddlers still put them on the shitlist. And hell, they still talk about Teavana which has been all but dead for several years too (RIP, used to love when I could get all my tea from their original store in Atlanta before Starbucks swooped in and ruined everything like they always do).

pretty much anything sealed with food grade paper or cardboard, from parchment paper to milk cartons, is lined with microplastics that leak into the products

I have a Razer Basilisk X mouse that's the same. I use it on a laptop with dual boot Windows/Bazzite and each time I switch OS I have to re-pair, very annoying. I hate bluetooth in general, it's a garbage technology that hasn't progressed like it should have since it was introduced in the 90s.

I have Logitech mice, keyboards, and a keychron keyboard that all allow multiple. I don't love bluetooth but I like it more than wired everything.

Bluetooth is pretty darn good now, what’s he smoking. I still use wired because autism, but for normal people Bluetooth is fine.

It works ok for a lot of things, sure, but it's still the low bandwith/high latency tech it was in the 90s when it was released, which is why every high performance device like logitech lightspeed mice have to include a proprietary dongle.

They should have added a higher performance optional mode a long time ago and made it less janky to use. What really drove my hatred for it though was when I bought some Klipsch desktop speakers some years ago with bluetooth. There was no button on them to turn BT off so once it was paired with a device, the only way to sever the connection and re-enable the 3.5mm out was to forget the device or turn off BT on the paired device, which was a constant pain. Some people were taking the speakers apart and pulling a wire so it disables the BT permanently, it was that bad. That wasn't fully BT's fault per se, but it illustrates the kind of weird jankyness the tech has because it's sometimes very poorly implemented for reasons that are beyond me. If the people running the standard knew what they were doing, "lightspeed" dongles and weird connection problems would have been solved back in the 2010's.

IDK man, I like games as much as anyone but I've never noticed a significant difference between the Logitech dongle and bluetooth.

Switching from 'lightspeed' dongle to BT feels just like going from a 144hz monitor down to 30hz.
