Overall ratings are all stupid anyways. They give all individual scores the same weight, and then average them out for it. If the game is feature complete, has a beautiful story, the UI and its features are all a 10.... but the stability of the game is a 0, then the game still gets a 7.5? Does that make any sense?
Never mind the fact that any reputable source sells out as soon as they get any notoriety, and I dont blame them. More money than they ever seen in their life and will ever make from game reviews. Or the complete opposite side of that coin - they arent getting any notoriety, so they bend the knee to get scraps and rate anything theyre told to rate, at the score theyve been told to. Or, they outright just rate shit positively just so they can get the free swag, the trips, the hotels, etc. for free (and I dont blame them here, either.)
Its why I generally just go and watch the game being played before I buy it.
