Some of those announcement trailers look pretty cool, and it's refreshing to see some established franchises explore new directions in gameplay and/or game genre.
Control Resonant being melee-centered rather than the shooting-centered Control.
Zoopunk becoming an open-world RPG after the side-view Metroidvania that was F.I.S.T. before it.
Turok Origins opening up into Monster Hunter genre after the previous games were all FPS.
So far, I thought "No Law" looks the most fun in the new games.

How many C64s are in use today? Dozens? I know they started remaking it but really who the fuck is still using that? And what percent of those people are interested in this game? We had a c64 in the mid 80s and the wait time was crazy even then. I remember my dad would wash dishes every time we had to change a disk on pools of radiance and would have me yell when it finally finished loading. Shit was brutal.

Tons of indie dungeon crawlers coming out these days. Wonder if someone will hit it big with one.
I took a quick break from the newest Wrath of the the Righteous playthrough, to finally check out Wizards and warriors yesterday. I was reminded of it, when trying to figure out where I owned Witcher 3. (it was GoG, and I was going over my giant backlog on there. haha.) Eye of the beholder also catching my eye...

There has to be enough people using the new C64s to make it at least worth it from a niche perspective. I occasionally watched videos from a channel called Retro Recipes and they were big into restoring old computers, but they invested in the new C64 production and most of their new stuff is around that

Yea I think there's some hope that there will be enough people grabbing these new machines to sell a few games.
There's also been an effort to make some other slightly more powerful C64 like machines. To me they are all about 3 - 5x too expensive. I have nostalgia for this stuff, but not 500 dollar nostalgia.

I remember my dad spending an entire weekend copying a code from a computer magazine that would create a game for you. I’m not sure what he hit but I remember him saying something like “oh shit I hit this button too early I didn’t have everything input. Hmm it looks like it autocompleting or trying to run it” then after it tried whatever and failed all the code he wrote was just gone, at a blank prompt again. He gave up and never tried coding again in his life.

OOF! Yea I used to type those in. Most were from Compute magazine. Eventually they got smart and added parity checks, but the early days were type and pray.
