Thanks for explaining but now I have more questions
Gachas often do collaborations with other games to cross promote one another, like Wuthering Waves recently had a highly regarded collab with Cyberpunk 2077. FFBE was not generally known for retarded/nonsensical collabs like some games were but they did collab twice with Ariana Grande, once with Katy Perry, and once with Addison Rae whoever the hell that is.

Just shows how much absolute retard money to invest ratio gachas make

16 had some good things going for it: The story was pretty decent until after Bahamaut. Boss fights were pretty cinematic and cool. Music was good (Soken).

But the side quests felt so useless - almost like they added them for the sake of adding them, but they ultimately did nothing except pad the game. The only side quest that was kinda nice was the one where you got some Cid backstory. Crafting felt useless. The back half / third of the game story wise was less engaging.

It was certainly a better story than 14. People jizz all over that and it was a bloated nonsensical mess too.

You just head on back to the first and don’t forget to talk to someone at the waking sands and regurgitate the recent cut scene that could have been an email. It’s an Ascian. Always. Oh, while you’re at it, go take this letter and rehash the cut scenes again with all the world leaders in one of the randomly chosen capitals to randomly visit.

I grant that ARR is kind of an awful experience that probably turns a lot of players away before they get deeper into FF14 but the Ishikawa era (The Doman half of Stormblood, all of Shadowbringers and Endwalker) is absolutely fantastic. There's a good reason why FF14 players give her a standing ovation every time she shows up for like a fan fest or whatever.

I played through endwalker. I wanted to introduce them to an editor. There’s an ok story there that would be 1000% better if made single player AAA and heavily edited down.

As far as Resonance goes, it's a pretty beefy demo but I still have my doubts about this being worth 50 bucks. Guess it depends on how much of the FFBE story is adapted into this, if it's the whole thing then this will be a reasonably long game. Definitely a wait and see unless you've got some major FFBE nostalgia.

$50 is the equivalent of $22 when Mystic Quest came out. I think that retailed for $35 then. Yeah yeah. Cartridge era, but it’s probably overall worth 50.
