The story is insanely bad with a lot of retcons that kind of ruin the first one. The action is cool but it literally jumped the sharks when the shark scene happens. It’s quite comical from there. This would be a fun movie to drink to if it wasn’t 2.5 hours long. Also thought the street American accent from Denzel stuck out like a sore thumb.

I'm in the middle of a rewatch of 300. I haven't seen this movie in a long time and I remember it being a cool movie. I still think there are a lot of epic style parts, but ultimately, it isn't a good movie. Green Screen was in it's early stages, and that shows. Oh well. Quite a few to epic scenes (This is Sparta! *kick*) with plenty of weak scenes in between.

Its that movie where he is dead and wrote a buncha letters before he died and then the last one is like "okay, you done being a woman and QQing? okay, get out and live, stop crying, go!"
And the line "Argh Woman! Ya pain in me hole!" - its great, because I use it all the time and the wife cant get mad because its like, her FFAAVVOORRITEEE movie next to the notebook and it triggers her inner Gerard Butler voice and she just is like awwwww...

Does Ridley Scott just stamp his name on stuff now? This was .... not good. 
The sharks in the arena were like Sharknado quality CG. Tons of bad CG, editing, questionable dialog, and casting.
Kinda does make me want to re-watch Spartacus though.

He either directs retarded projects, or is getting paid by Hollywood to endorse and be a producer on some stupid film. I could be wrong about the new alien stuff but doesn't mean it's not still gay and shitty.
I am not trying to say that the man hasn't made amazing films throughout his career, but maybe just because he got old and then suddenly the vast majority of his films since the Golden Age have just been pretty blehhhhhhhh.
I mean they might be worth watching if you're bored, but it's no Alien, which we can all agree is a masterpiece.

Maybe he's like Bruce Willis. A dementia husk they trot out to any questionable movie set they can lure him to just to slap his name on it and try to generate some buzz.
