Oh hey finally.

Saw this at SXSW in March, was really good. The horror is very very effective since while yea the dog could get out, he sure as hell is too loyal to and his human isn't picking up on what he his so you are scared shitless for the pup. Dont read Sylas' spoiler, just go in blind. Dog performance was top notch and the director (its his dog) had him at the premiere. Its framed from the dogs pov often which really adds to everything, its kinda hard to explain why it works without watching it. Trailer gives a good idea how it was filmed, and more or less it is all from the dogs perspective even if the dog doesnt understand WHY its happening.

After seeing Weapons this is my second best horror of the year but this one was far scarier.

Okay that seems like a great premise... Waiting to hear it's a book or a remake of a remake because no way we've went this long without something like this.

Isnt this courage the cowardly dog?

Kinda I guess but this dog well just a dog. Dog doesn’t know how or why things are happening they just are. It doesn’t have the agency to do anything about it so it’s his reaction to it and knowing that it’s just a dog drives the horror. Dog loves his human and its emotion is what you are following and have empathy for. Because it follows a different pov then any other horror that I can recall its effective because it’s essentially all new

Is it original though? Didn't we see the animals perspective in Cat's Eye?

damn now that’s a pull. I’m not sure I’ve seen it. Was the cat ever in danger or was it just a series of events from the cats pov? This isn’t just dog being disassociated observer. Also this is filmed on dogs level

The beginning part of the movie is all from the cat's perspective. When it reaches home the cat protects the little girl from a little troll or evil gnome that lives in the walls and at night tries to steal her breathe, life essence.

This will probably be the closest film to it. If there are some bells that jingle at some point then we'll know it's at least an homage.
