i really hope next year hbo doesn't give reviewers any episodes or just 1, it fucking sucked staying out of GoT threads to avoid spoilers.

really bummed, barristan was awesome and it sucks seeing him go if it ends up being true. not really loving the season so far but i guess have to see it all the way through for final verdicts.

dany's unsullied army is kinda sucking balls, seeing a lot of tits made them go soft or something

loras never got arrested in the books, did he? the buildup of the KL stuff is pretty great in the show so far, a non reader will feel like cersei is kicking ass and taking names setting up her own little mormon army, sending away the members of the council, and starting to set up margey for a fall. when it all comes crashing down on her its going to be insane.

Loras got wounded attacking some castle and is pretty much a non-factor in the book at this point. In the end the plot change doesn't matter too much, because it ends with Cersei getting fucked over by the monster she creates ;p

He goes off and sieges a castle and gets boiling oil poured on his face or something so he is all fucked up. I'm wondering if they will just have these guys do something similar to him. In the books Arya helped take Harenhall back and he was sent to get that back if i remember correctly. Or maybe it was dragonstone?

Unsullied fought like pansies compared to how they were built up, but Selmy went out like a fucking boss. He had to have gone through 15 or more of the sons before they finally got him.

So if Barristan is really dead, my guess is this was done so Tyrion/Jora are the ones that hold Meereen together while Dany goes joyriding on Drogon. Wonder if we will see Yunkai siege Merreen at all at this point.

How the fuck does 10 bullshit non soldier Sons of the Harpy take out one of the greatest fighters in the history of Westeros? Even in his old age he was still a beast. Should have at least had it be a mob of 50 sons of the harpy or something to make it believeable. So fucking pissed right now

i understand the show is trying to keep shit moving along, but they fucking needed baristan, they at least need him for now. why not take fucking daario out? there is no chance he is the harpy or a secret greyjoy. and they dont need him for more sex scenes with dany cuz the bitch wont release the twins anymore. he serves no purpose in the books or on the show other than beefcake and they got jamie for that.

a fight like that for baristan should have been a piece of cake, he could have gone into beast mode ala kingsman and just shredded everything in sight.

Well, the biggest thing going against him is it was extremely close quarters combat. I think if it had been a more open space, he could have taken them.

Dany isn't hitching a ride on Drogon without some serious warg intervention. Not this season at least.

Yeah exactly. If you want to kill one of her camp, kill the useless Daario. Why kill Dany's only connection to Westeros/only experienced military commander. Pointless

As badass as Selmy was built up to be, no matter what your age or ability, going against 2 or 3, let alone more than a dozen foes is a terrible disadvantage. Think of all the opportunities even half-ass trained combatants would have to cheap shot the best in the land as they are focused on a single opponent even for a few seconds. Let's be a little realistic about this. He went out with some serious cred and saved Grey Worm in the process.

the whole thing sucked balls. the unsullied are supposed to be the spartans of this world, trained from birth in strong unit-cohesion combat and completely fearless. when 4 were surrounded in an ambush we saw them get picked off one by one. they didn't break through and get a wall behind them and dismantle the enemy, they just... died. in multiple locations, too.

and selmy is fighting with armor and a goddamn sword and he died to guys in rags with masks that completely obstruct their FOV with fucking KNIVES. what is this shit!?! have you ever worn a mask? you can't see shit!!

its the lost problem starting to rear its head: the writers are going for "shock" twists and surprises and throwing out well established plot points. you wanna kill unsullied and barristan fine, make it 100 v 4 with archers and fire and women and children being used as bait, it was stupid for them to do it this way and throw out long held in show lore about these characters.

Tyrion is incoming. He fills both those needs. I'm actually excited to have Tyrion to guide her. He'll probably really, really push for building her empire up quickly then crushing all of Westeros which he now despises.

after rewatching it, I'm actually in agreement with Spronk that this made the unsullied really look pretty bad. No strategy involved, a handful got picked off with opening moves. Still in the Selmy is a boss camp though....but its lonely.

except dany hates the fucking lannisters as everyone everywhere does, she may not kill tyrion on sight but it would be a huge weakness on her part to accept him and his counsel.

Assuming she doesn't hang Tyrion for being a Lannister and A kinslayer
