Could you imagine if they portrayed that scene tightly by the source material? My god, the sound of heads exploding would have awaken the dead.

Yeah, why the outrage over poor Sansa when Theon was TORTURED FOR MONTHS(YEARS?)! Had his dick cut off and mailed to his father/sister, forced to sleep in dog shit and forget his own name because he was fucking flayed and punished for even SAYING his name was Theon unless ordered to do so. Never saw any outrage over that.

Or just how psychologically fucked up he is as evidenced by violently resisting his sister's attempt to rescue him and almost loosing his shit when Ramsay had him "pretend" to be Theon again.

i think the only theon complaints i saw was that they didnt want to see theon tortured because it was too boring/repetitive every week.

I realize I'm talking about ancient history at this point, but something else stupid occurred to me about killing off Jeyne Westerling. In the book, you have that outside chance that the Westerlings are actually every bit as diabolically clever as any other family in Westeros, and they're concealing Jeyne's pregnancy. By concealing Robb's heir for a later date, they'd be keeping the option open that if things ever go south for the Lannisters and Boltons, they can potentially press his claim to Winterfell and install Jeyne as regent until he comes of age, which would be a pretty big coup for a proud house whose fortune has waned greatly in recent years. Even if Jon (or Sansa or even Arya) somehow ended up taking Winterfell from the Boltons, primogeniture means Robb's child has a stronger claim than any other Stark.

Killing her off in the show probably means that none of that shit will happen and she'll never pop up in the books again.

The Drogo rape was much more difficult to watch, where the hell were these people before?
I thought about that too. I think it's mainly that people feel motherly towards Sansa because she is so weak and innocent and they play that up in the show, calling her "child" and the like. Dany was innocent back then too, but we hadn't known her as long at the time that the scene happened.

I vaguely recall a decent amount of butthurt for the Drogo scene. The show is also far more popular now.

I dont blame you actually. Only reason I see those whiny articles is because flipbook and all these news aggregators shove the "ARGH GOT HAS RAPEZ" headlines in my face every monday morning.

I guess it's my fault that I don't like watching that shit on tv for fun?

I'll just flip the channel as soon as they cut to sansa in the future.

The actress is 19, they aged the actual characters up from the books so she was 13 at the beginning of s1 so she's about 18 or so as of the non-rape scene.

The new actress they got playing Myrcella is totally 35 tho:

Sansa didn't have to spill everything to Cercei and get her own father killed. She could have let Tyrion protect her instead of running off with a drunk coward. She didn't have to say no to Brienne. LF even told Sansa she could refuse to go to Winterfell.

Sure, she didn't murder anyone or burn any kids alive. Theon deserved a large part of his punishment. But it took a whole lot of foolish naivete for Sansa to get to where she is. Every chance she's had to choose between bad or worse, she's gone with worse.

I have a revolutionary idea no one has ever heard before: If you don't like it, don't watch it.

The scene totally bothered me too. That was the point. But now I'm so annoyed I hope the next episode is 60 minutes of Marquis de Bolton ass-raping Sansa while Reek poops in her mouth.

Sansa is a stupid little girl. Theon was willingly a massive piece of shit. I'm not saying either deserve their fates in the show, but I can certainly see why people would be more sympathetic for Sansa.

I may be remembering this wrong but I believe even Martin confirmed that he had no plans for some secret Stark baby coming from Jeyne.

That's the point though, Soy. Or at least what I took. We're supposed to hate and love these characters, just not to the point we let it spill over into the real world and think it has some deeper meaning or motivation. It's a fucking drama.

Instead of talking about how half these kids deserve Emmy's and BAFTA's, were discussing it like it's fucking ISIS.

Actually I am sure it's an age thing. Sansa is what 15?
I don't think it'sjustan age thing though that is an element of it. This is the fifth season. Much of the audience feels like they've literally watched a large chunk of Sansa growing up. Dani's marriage night deflowering was very early in S1 and the audience had not had the same chance to form a connection with her character over time.
