I always heard it was meh. To be honest im not entirely sure I finished 4. That was a long time ago.
That’s wild. It’s a decade old, but I’d play it were I you, it’s one of the best single player experiences you can have, or was then.

Calling bullshit on the game is finished. It will sell blockbusters whether it’s released in the spring or holidays.

I think the game is ready for launch but won't run on a PS5 or PS5 pro.

PS5 is 5 year old tech and it wasn't great to begin with. PS5 pro is that same ancient tech, just slightly less shitty.

So we'll be waiting for PS6 launch and probably PS6 pro before it lands.

I'd bet on the PS release being delayed until late 2027.

sorry I don’t agree with your purely speculative take? I guess?

and PC always launches later with Rockstar, this is hardly a new thing.

there isn't a set launch date for PS (since there won't be on current gen)

so yea, PC is going to be later

even if it launches in 2026 on PS, which it won't since they need at least 18 months from now to launch a PS6 PRO, 2028 for PC is an optimist take

I think console generations might end up being a lot longer from here on out. Tech is improving year over year still of course but on PC, unless gaming at 4K, you can rock 5+ year old hardware and still game at max settings. The 3080/3080ti/3090/3090ti are still very good cards. Hell even the 2080ti is still very capable.

My laptop has a 2080. The fans run hard but I can play pretty much any game on it. Some games I will drop the settings a bit just to not run it to hard. I am hoping the laptop lasts me a few more years. I have had it for 6 so far.

This game and the new continuation of 2077 are the games that might get me to upgrade regardless.

I loved 4, couldn't get into 5. Not sure I'll give this one a shot given what they've shown us thus far, but I've been wrong before.

Where is the info coming about waiting on ps6. That seems made up bullshit.

If anything Rockstar will make sure to push it out on current gen just like they did with GTA5 coming out like 2 months before the PS4 and XB1 came out. Gotta get that double dip action on yet again.

My build is 2021 and only poorly optimized games give me trouble on ultra max. Anything on max runs perfect.

Someone I know was doing a build recently and worried about waiting for next gen. I told him if I'm still good for 10 years on last gen, he's got nothing to worry about.

100%

my guess based on previous launches and Rockstar wanting to capitalize on the hype

It will launch on PS5, but tagged something along the lines as «optimized for PS5 pro». Even the pro edition will be a visual downgrade from any trailer we have seen.

Base edition will be a minimum of 79.99. The «ultimate» edition will be above $100 (most likely 110-120 range) and feature a 3-5 day «early» access compared to a given release date.

There will be no PC version until the PS6.

PS6 version will at best be a minimum $40 «upgrade» edition for those who have it already, if not full price.

Then once the PS6 version is a year+ old (2028/2029) release again for full price on PC.

They’re not going to wait for the game to run better on newer hardware. They are going to milk this release as much as they can.

Don't forget story pack and heist mission DLC's every couple months and "complete" editions bundling a half dozen of them together before they release another couple afterward that you have to pay for separately.

and that's not even touching on cosmetic packs and selling in-game currency for real money, and progression items, and..... you name it, they'll monetize it.

When do we think Playstation 6 is gonna be out? I'll be first in line for it, just like I was for the PS4 and PS5.

IMO PS5 still has a lot of life in it, if they want it to. Graphics probably can't get much better than they are; I'd say PS6 or PS7 will be the gen where visuals get fully tapped out. When you have things running in genuine 4K/120 in UE6 or whatever with advanced light effects, that will be the pinnacle.

PS5 can already do some astounding things; check out the Matrix Unreal Demo of you haven't. Looks like a preview of a PS6 or 7 game. Once full games look like that demo, I think we'll be at the end of evolution and the next stage from there is starting work on Holodecks or something.

GTA4 is the only one I haven't played. A friend and I have plans to run it (pass the controller back and forth) before 6 drops. Was hoping for a console remaster by now to put it in line with 3/VC/SA/5, but nope, nada. So PS3 it is. We'll probably do an afternoon hangout every weekend over the Summer until the game's done. Will be cool to bring back weekend hangouts for a game, we haven't done that sort of thing in like 15 years.
