Will see. Unless console players and what I can watch show it completely sucks, I can't see myself skipping it on PC. I have enjoyed every GTA game so far. Thankfully PC release is so much later, I can basically get a full view of the game if I wanted before buying, even without spoiling the story(if its worth going in with minimal knowledge). One upside to their still crazy idea of releasing on console so much earlier still. I don't have to be a beta tester.

Haven’t paid for a pre order yet since no point without physical. Keeping an eye out for the gameplay reveal.

My hope is running a PS5 Pro with an LG C1 TV it can at least do the 40fps / 120hz magic. The implementation that comes to mind first is Ratchet and Clank but more games utilising it than I thought.

Anyone try it with Black Flag Resynced?

I don't blame them for taking netflix money but even if i had a netflix sub I'd rather just wait and watch it on YouTube, lol

I mean, I am not expecting anything beyond a good aesthetic. We all know what GTA gameplay is like. If the trailer illuminates whatever gimmicks they are introducing this time around that will be good though.

More interested to learn if the enxtended trailer will have a «captured on pc» on it or if they only showcase the ps5/pro versions. If it says pc it might mean that version is a bit closer than the year+ it took GTA5.

Full on assumption here, but would imagine if netflix paid top dollar for something as trivial as an extended trailer, they would want the best looking one available? They don’t want a PC trailer being released in a few months (like at the game awards) making the netflix one look like shit in comparison.

Lot of stories today about the $100 version out selling the $80 version on pre-orders. Also mentioned that the $100 version has stores / cars / weapons that are not available in the 'poor' version. WTF.

Don't care cuz when it finally comes to PC it will include it all.

One of many places quoting it:

I'll donate 100 bucks to the forums upkeep fund if the game is riddled of dei woke shit (in your face alphabet storylines, key figures are fags, can't kill certain npcs, colors of the 41% displayed on clothing flags etc). I was thinking about paying 100 for it not meeting expectations but we all know it's gonna sell insane amount. So the question is, which version of gta are people gonna get. Vintage or modern

This game is an outlier in terms of the AAA studios. Yes it is and will print money. But at the same time even woke gay AAA studios can't afford a $1B+ Dev and marketing cost on a decade timeline like this monstrosity has.

Guaranteed it wont have totally unhinged characters like Trevor, Lamar, Big Smoke, and so on. The tendrils of DEI wokeness will be present in their characters and storylines. This will net them negative feedback but the game itself will still sell. Probably sending all the wrong messages.

I think the current layoffs are Noah’s flood cleansing the DEI filth, literally and letting the market say “no thanks.”

The bigger problem is that there are less….traditional gamers going into game development. There’s better and higher paying work elsewhere for white programmer nerds. I think the future are smaller studios making AAA like Expedition 33. Then those studios will grow and be bought out and so on. But smaller studios will have to be “safer” in the political slants in games.

I hope above hope this game is nothing but “brown woman speaking!” and other DEI bullshit.

This is a bigger problem and I'd argue has a lot more to do with the maturity of the software industry, if you will. In the 1990s and 2000s a small studio could engineer a lean game engine, such as the Infinity Engine used in Baldur's Gate 1, 2, Icewind Dale, and whatever and build their games. Infinity remains a remarkably lean and mean game engine that puts some of the 2020s engines for the same genre to shame. BG1 does 5 times as many calculations under the hood than the 2023 Rogue Trader game and does it in real time.

It takes some serious engineering chops to create something like that. The feast or famine game development industry is well, stressful. Those kind of skills can get you a high paying job with almost no stress at big corporate. So its a no brainer that the very best devs with anything less than total passion for video games just go and do something else. The result is that the less skilled but very passionate types rely on engines as services and messier technologies like Unreal 5 to make games. While they have success due to their passion, the lack of skill becomes increasingly obvious.

Hoping they worked on combat (a lot) - going from CP2077 back to GTAV is shocking.

After RE9 I don't think I can go back to Unreal 5. People were barely tolerating Unreal 5 to begin with. RE9 showed the industry that things don't need to be that way. I can't take it serious.

There's some leaks going around if you're interested, there's like a subreddit for them, they get taken down with copyrights but there's ppl reposting them and all that shit.
